LOL! You have good taste buds, Misty! The K's Bento mystery item IS a tofu-egg patty. I had to ask the lady there a few years ago. It's my favorite item in the bento. Too bad they discontinued the large bento with shrimp and a cone sushi in addition to everything else in the regular bento.

Getting caught up here Misty. Honestly, I can't see paying a lot for okazuya food. My acid test is to look at the corn beef patties and if I just see white with a few flecks of red, that's a no go for me. Plus I'm real picky about shoyu chicken. If it's browned first in oil then braised in a shoyu, ginger, mirin sauce, I'm good - the browning somehow gets rid of that gamey out of the box chicken flavor. But no mind me, I old, lol! K's Bento-Ya: Does one still have to go super early like before 7 to purchase a bento? Eight dollars today for that amount of food is definitely a deal. Small kine side story - there was a counter lady, Aunty Bea who passed a few years ago. She was a member of Palisades Baptist, my former church and we had her memorial service there. The sanctuary was absolutely packed and had overflow into the courtyard. Seemed like most of the guests were her customers and they all remarked how super sweet she was. :* Alicia's: Another place so many folks rave about, especially their prepared meats. And yup, another place I've been meaning to try. Hooo, I heard that crunch of the roast pork. But I can also hear Dr. Chun saying, "Mark, why are your triglycerides up again?" Lol! And Ishiharaya: So sad, no words. :*

Me too. Too much potato in the hash I no like. Their shoulders chicken is not gamey. I hate gsmey chicken and I don't like the taste/smell. I know what you mean about your cholesterol. So far I'm good with Mt blood sugar. I eat salads the rest of the week. 🤙
