Hello Chef one of the reasons I love your cooking is the simplicity of your meals. Sometimes I just don't have money to buy 15 ingredients. So thank you for sharing simple meals.

I love beans like this! Problem is my husband doesn't like them so I cook all those beans for myself but I think I'm going to try to freeze the leftovers in freezer bags for later too. I've got a big hambone left after a ham this week and putting it on low in the crock pot for overnight now. Yum!
@alexandermcbride28715 ай бұрын
I eat them in my house and my wife usually freeze the remainder. This also allows the seasoning to permeate the food...leftovers better than the original...

One of my favorite meals! I just recently bought some liquid smoke (never tried before) because it seems like it is hard to find smoked meat anymore that gives food a good smoked flavor. Many years ago when cooking with smoked meat, I didn't have to add salt to my beans, but the last few times using smoked meat, it did not give my beans any flavor...I guess it depends on brand used.

@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD4 жыл бұрын

@rgeorge92608 ай бұрын
Hi, Chef! Recipe looks and sounds great! One simple question: you added sausage to yours. What type? Adouille? Something else? An entire sausage? Half a sausage? Sorry, but the recipe simply doesn't specify! Could make a difference in the flavor / overall smokiness of the dish, given the recipe already calls for ham hocks and salt bacon (I don't have jowl available in my local grocery), both of which are smokey in flavor! Thank you, and you "have a blessed, ole school soul food day" yourself!
Since I don't have an InstaPot can a regular Crock pot be used??
