My mom made great burgers. Fried in a skillet, seasoned with salt and pepper, but they were delicious. The meat came from the corner grocery store. They ground it right there. Everything tasted better back then.

Yes maam food tasted so much better back then. There wasn't a lot of fast food restaurants when I was growing up. My mother cooked from scratch. The food was so delicious. Nothing fancy because it was five of us kids. But rice, fried chicken with gravy and biscuits, pinto beans, fried chicken and corn bread. My mom cooked on a gas stove maybe that's why the food tasted better. Those were the days that I will always cherish.

Mustard on one side and mayo on the other brought back sweet memories of my dear Mom. That’s how she ate her burgers. Those were good times. Interesting just how much of our lives revolve around the kitchen, preparing and enjoying our food together. Sweet memories, indeed.

When I was a kid, my parents didn't have a lot of money. So every Saturday night, we had homemade hamburgers and brick chili (you just added water). Those are great memories!! Thanks for this show!

This video reminds me of my mother,she made the best burgers, the same way. She always browned her buns on both sides. The only fast food burger she would eat was Dairy Queen because they would by request toast her buns on both sides. Thanks for the memory of my mom Chef🙂

Chef Jeffrey, wow that is a good old fashion Country burger. That's the way my mother would cook her burgers, and we would add the commodity cheddar cheese melted on top. I still cook my burgers in a skillet and toast my buns on both sides. We would eat it with Lays potatoes chips or real homemade french fries. Your burgers with all the fixins, wax paper wrapped around the burger looks so scrumptious. Thanks for bringing back memories. Stay safe.

Man o man! I just now came across your channel. My family from TX and OK. Lots of your recipes remind me of when nanny used to cook for us when we were young. She sadly passed away, but she left us with memories of her smiling face and full belly's! And I eat my burger the same way. ALWAYS Mayo on bottom with the condiments. 👍😁 But I always add lots of pepper on top of the Mayo and condiments.

That is a great looking burger! When I opened this video and saw the Texas buns, I knew I was in for a real burger! I remember the paper around the burger. We went to the Homemade drive-in back in Vivian, Louisiana, in the 60's. 5 of those burgers for $1.00. Those were the good old days. Keep up the great recipes. I love them.

And yes I remember the toothpicks here in Greenwood we have a burger joint that’s been around 60 years or more called Dixie they still do the burgers that way.

Jasmine, I have never taken to Miracle Whip. I couldn't see what the miracle was... It's sweet and mayo isn't. I also like to dip French fries in mayonnaise, I learned that in Alabama. It's the only thing I liked about Alabama!
