Awesome instructionals as always! ♥ I'm not sure if this guitar started with Steve's indexing pins, but if so, you could upgrade the sine plate with pins to fix the body, and a template on the bottom, thus eliminating the need for a bearing bit.. IDK?.. I'm not a guitar builder, I'm just watching you on YT.

There is one pin hole that works with this plate and template set up. The Challenger plate is set up like you describe

Any set neck guitar with an arch top is tricky. Lotta people don't know or realize, that a LP Standard and a LP Custom have different neck set angles. They feel different to play also. Standards have the strings much farther away from the top. Everything on a custom is lower profile. The LP Prophecy I just picked up, is a very interesting design. They've incorporated construction techniques from the LP Modern, and even the SG. Its very close to the SG Modern I had. Feels and plays like no other Les Paul I know of? Peace!

Great stuff. How do I guarantee a 4-degree angle if I don't have a router, and instead I'll be using my Swiss Army Knife? Cuz y'know, the SAK has that hollow grind.... 👍👍👍. 🤪

It is the way that we do the workshop guitars. The headstock angle is 7 degrees... The way the good Lord intended

on my R9 the 3rd side marker is about 1/8th of an inch from the edge of the guitar body. His is more than 1/4 an inch. hmmmm seems like his neck is set back further than a standard Gibson R9

Remember, this guitar I'm working on isn't a Gibson. I can tell you that the necks join the body at the 16th fret. I'm sure there are variations in these guitars
