And you still can tell the cars apart by their body's or lights. They all certainly still have their own style, even if it's very modern compared to the classics. The classics (in my opinion)all look more similar to each other than the modern ones but to each their own
@caspere.84612 жыл бұрын
In the 50's 60's the new cars would basically change headlights, tail lights bumper styles every year and a major sheet metal change every two years. Used to be able to tell the make model and year from a silhouette in the dark. Today, Other than the new muscle cars, they all look like an egg with wheels.

Modern all-roller ultra tight engines were an engine builder's dream build back in my day and big money too. I highly doubt that by then technology would have advanced a lot more and people would be more interested in the newer stuff in the 2000's no one was interested in electric cars and in 2021 everyone I know wants a Tesla or the new F150 electric hell even a Cybertruck most of the people who love the classics will be dead in 20 years and they would be considered antiques by then anyways some of them are already becoming antiques and inventory will keep decreasing as time goes by and soon they will become a thing of the past found only in museums.

Lol. Maybe half but hopefully more. Lol, I had to learn with my first car: A 1967 Dodge Polaris with Slant Six and three column shift, brought and given as a gift from my late parents. Took a while but a $2.14 item cost me around $42 and that taught me to learn mechanics in late 1969. Stopped when electronics started but still am learning how to slowly fine tune by researching a lit bit of newer tech. I'd think if I every could acquire the newer Mopar beast that is 800 plus H right out of the factory, would be the tool needed to excel my limited mechanical 🤔 knowledge. 👍

Ford Motor has a parts warehouse there known as the "new" Detroit Parts Depot. Watching video's like this one brings back the memory of hearing advertisements on the radio, "Sunday Sunday, at Detroit Dragway".Years later, I ended up working with the guy who's voice was behind the radio advertisement "Sunday Sunday". What cool and fun times I enjoyed as a young man at the drag strip. Years later in life, I still love going to the drag strip at Milan Raceway, but the old school Detroit Dragway was the best place to be to see the Godfathers and the first Ladies of the track make racing history.

@@jonathanhuffman911 that sound that came from the Plymouth GTX tuned exhaust tho! Tappet valves, that rumble. Its almost impossible to even duplicate that sound in today's muscle cars n trucks!
Hey, it would be better to appreciate the new as well as the old, but get it. Old just refuses to die and new technologies can be hacked as opposed to analog old school rethoric, lol.
@olnappy2 жыл бұрын
@@robertgarciaortegadinoseni3886 we appreciate the new, BUT as you said the new can be compromised along with and by using the same technology that makes new, great. Did you see on the news where thieves took a Tesla from a guy's driveway by using a bypass kit??

New car guy: Walks onto a car lot and buys a fast car, then takes it to the track. Classic car guy: Spends every weekend in his garage for the past 8 months building and tuning his car, in preparation to take it to the track. Classic car guy: Succeeds in gaining my respect and admiration. New car guy: Succeeds in voiding all of his warranties.

Just looking at the first race, I'd think modern traction control makes a lot of difference. I dunno. Any other suggestions? (I'm confident a Tesla Model S would smoke the Hellcat like it did a Vette and Viper).

He needs to learn to drive it is all that is. Traction control is a no no when running 1/4 mile You will lose power if you spin the tires

Old school wins all the time in looks and sound ! Who cares if the new car wins? All these new cars look the same in body style, no originality. Big deal if the new car wins....this is like an 18 year old kid running a 100 yard dash against a 60 year old man...who do ya think wins? Oh and by the way.....as far as maintenance goes you can change parts out a hell of a lot quicker and easier on old school cars versus these newbees. Old school muscle wins hands down on looks, sound and maintenance. These newer cars are electronic and maintenance nightmares.
@robertgarciaortegadinoseni38862 жыл бұрын
... like an 18 ... against an 60 ... Lol. Great, because I'm 70, and a strong chances in the short run, but not in the long run, lol, but I'm not asking for a challenge. My old gears and power are a bit out of date. Lol

Maintenance? LOL whats the maintenance schedule on your dream old car? Spark plus, 15k miles? Engines tired at 100k? While new cars dont require spark plugs until 150k. All looking the same? Oh yeah lets go back to when manufactures had 3+ brands all of the same cars with just minor differences. Real original. Old cars are cool and all, but they are in the same category as horses now.

@@taylorsrus9543 Thank you sir! These people are so delusional and truly believe that these old cars were that fast from a factory. None were. Lol. I still have older family members that believe the average grocery getter from the 60s could do 13s and top at 145mph. Truly asinine.

You'll never beat the old muscle cars. A new Mustang or A Dodge pulls into a gas station and the other people pumping gas might walk over to have a look....maybe. But a Road Runner or GTO pulls in and everyone will walk over to have a closer look. Classic never ever goes out of style.
