We use this exact same newer washer at work. I personally love them. Wish they weren't so expensive, but you get what you pay for. May be worth the investment

Mine is a Heubsch YWNE22SP commercial machine, it has the old style electronic controls and transmission. The only downside is it doesn't have a tub fill feature, it fills the tub to the top all the time. I also own the matching Gas dryer which had to be factory ordered. Great machines overall.

I had a 1996 Speed Queen washer, and the tub rotted out after 8 years of city water and it being used for one person.

Same here. Mine lasted 7 years and the drum rusted out. Used it everyday. 2 loads a day. It cost be close to $1000. It flooded my floors. I’ll never buy one again. Never.

We got the older Speed Queen in this video in 2016 (white top, mechanical timer). It is very good. If you can find one, buy it.

Had a ge dishwasher stop working, the tech that serviced it said the machine needed a software update. Why the hell does a dishwasher need an software update?!

Most likely just needs a main control replacement. GE is known for having faulty and unreliable electronics. I used to be an appliance tech and you can’t really update these boards only on the washers you can “program” them to a certain degree.

Dumb it down ? Electronics in SQ’s isn’t cheap, after all it’s commercial and is designed to run 24/7 365. The real fact is that the electronics use less power than the old motor driven timers etc etc, which is part of the energy mandate requirements! For example an electronic board uses 5 watts of power vs 10 watts and over! That’s just an example but that’s the reason mostly!

Yep. total cheap-out. they removed the transmission and made it have worthless wash action. The boards are horrible as well.

I bought a 10yr old Maytag Neptune with mechanical dial control like what's shown here NO computer in it! It has variable water levels, works like brand new. A repair man that also rehabs old machines to new had this one $236 and works perfectly and looks new. I got lucky. I replaced a 7yr old Maytag front load, computer went out and a $500 repair bill, and very little water used to wash, it drove me crazy, didn't seem to wash well enough, you need water duh!!!! Not sorry I dumped that one and got a REAL washer.

Having used both before, I much prefer the mechanical models. My technician says the electronic models have more problems. I disagree that SQ is better than LG. I have an LG and it does a much better job than either of those two, I'm so glad I didn't get a SQ.
