The epilogue was so long and fulfilling that it deserved its own event. Like a story 3. Just so we could get some more Abe cutscene art of her, such as after she was captured by the humans, and when she saw the number counter display a number. Her "we aren't failures!" killed me. 😭😭😭

One of the longest ones too. It’s like a few event chapters in length I was so surprised. I’m pretty sure Grave and Cindy are goin to be top 5. I’m a very sad Scarlet main though, just when I thought she might have a chance to finally win, I’m pretty sure Cindy will take the next popularity contest victory.

@@FrizFroz I feel like this is a case of "Less is more." Take the experimentation section, for example. They absolutely could go into gruesome detail of how they basically lobotomized Abe for an entire year, but instead they show her getting captured, what's about to happen to her (the whole "We'll examine the exterior and then the interior" line), see the "1 year later" followed by the state she's in as a result. It leaves the horrors to our imagination, and our imagination is rarely kind with the information we have been given.

@@KingDetonation This. Considering we already went through a similar sequence of scenes with Cindy, I'm glad SU decided to just have an abridged version here. It's not meant to focus on the torture, so much as answering why current day grave has trust issues with people from the Ark as her well as her sheer tenacity to push through for Cindy's sake.

_"Cinderella!"_ _"I did it!"_ _(sob) "We aren't failures!"_ Oh god, those lines had me sobbing too. After 14 years of foraging, and surviving all alone in this vast, rapture-filled wilderness just to save her daughter; after 2 years being experimented on, taken apart, and losing some of her cognitive and vocal functions, Grave finally finds some reprieve in the fact that their struggles were not in vain. The story of sorrow ends, and one of hope kindles anew.

Just the way she said it too... It's so heartbreaking. You just know that she's been holding on to that feeling of guilt for 17 years, and when she realized from seeing the scoreboard that their actions many years prior actually made a difference, it's like a huge weight has been lifted off her. It's such a cathartic moment, for her and for all of us who's witnessed her journey.

As a Korean viewer, I'm watching this story both in English and Korean. Re-watching this event in English makes me tear up again a bit. I just hope more non-Korean streamers recognize this gem of story. To me, Nikke has the deepest storyline of all mobile games releasing nowadays. Also, Korean VA for Abe/Grave absolutely MURDERED the whole time. Just hearing the English voiceline already made my eyes water, but the Korean voicelines tho. My emotions were absolutely destroyed. Abe is indeed a mother.

Just a little thing I noticed with Grave when you click on her character in her page she displays all the characteristics of her family. 1.she quiets you for Siren 2. She slits her throat which symbolizes what the twins wanted to do to Anichiro 3. Her eye Glows in flame Symbolizing what Red Shoes Did To Cinderella but sense her eyes are blue it also Symbolizes Cinderella conquering the corruption.

There are more details about the event that might have been missed. In the minigame, you're not playing as Cinderella, but Anachiro. That's why you fight against the "idols" which is what Anachiro sees when she fought against the Goddess Squad. That's also why Cinderella is the final boss and she actually kills you, representing her breaking free. In the event field, walking pass the bodies of Raptures you've vanquished will reveal them to be Nikkes you've killed. Also, since the event field represents Cinderella's subconsciousness. The wisps playing back memories of Abe's struggles taking care of Cinderella for a century are the glimpse of what Cinderella heard and sensed from Abe, showing how she isn't completely comatose in the coffin.

Also i unfortunately don't think we're done with her. Red shoes herself is dead but her personality data is still floating around in the raptures. 33:58 Abe mama is the most beautiful woman in the world and she is fxxking amazing. She is the one told Cinde to cut off the space station and this also cut off the rapture's reinforcement, she is the most genruis engineering in the Nikke story (well aleast i dont see any people has the tactic mind to cut off the raptures supply) She suffered too much...I think the side effect of the brain damage starting when she first encounter the raptures.the brain damage become serious at the battle so she start forgot all she learned. She lost her cautious when she saw nikke on the surface, but instead she meet those nikke recklessly, this can assume that 1. Her situation was critical ( both resources, physical and mental health were in her limits) 2. The brain damage affect her decision making thus she meet thosenikke recklessly. But Abe did nothing wrong those two fixing baster researcher indeed are the one need to blame. Abe give everything to protect her daughter now Abe is just an empty body that nothing left now.

Big Bless that you are caught up with main chapters when you went through this event. Alot of the hard hitting moments are really lost without the context, What really makes these so enjoyable are those "oh it was this, oh it was that, oh this was why" moments

I play the hard mode after my work, my day was not the best but i was so excited to see the epilogue that I endure until a i got home. After work, a sit on my sofa on the living room and open the game. And man the music still hurts, Grave went through a lot to save cindy and just want hug her in the entire epilogue. The scene with the numbers broke me, "We aren't failures" you are incredible grave. And the scenes with the map and the music made me cry as well, man this is best event i could play on a Garcha game and the fact that we aren't even in the beginning of this history suprise's alot. Now, i can't hear Rewrite without crying but its on my lobby now, this event give a little inspiriations and just like grave, i will try to write beautiful story. the amount of trauma and absolute horrendous treatment Abe had to face to bring Cindy back, just shows how absolutely amazing she is as a character, 15 years is a super long time and best mum proved herself time and time again, i didnt think they could top Red Ash for me, but Old Tales are my absolute nr. 1 event now

my timing couldn't be better since i just went through chapter 30 after Grave explained why she hates human just before hard mode dropped. i'm holding my tears throughout this epilogue because the song just make it more sad than already is. Absolutely proud of Old Tales squad (expect the for one). hopefully we can have clues or confirmation on Siren, Hansel and Gretel. Your honor, Red Shoes is too Sus to be corrected

I think red shoes might either be alive or remains in some way inside cindis head due to a relic or message? Idk that appeared on the spot she was at in which the which she says she was chosen by the queen and that she was her most beautiful as anachiro, and in the way its presented makes me think she is alive. The Queen cant produce Raptures anymore and I think shes on the surface too because space station fell. Its physically impossible for it to be in space or in orbit because it had basically 0 speed, it was attached to the Lift. The Lift is a space elevator but you still need speed to maintain orbit when you're in space, otherwise you just fall into the ground because gravity is the only force here. So the space station has to have fallen into the Earth and we can actually see it falling a bit in the anime cutscene, meaning its movement is towards the center of the Earth.

She gonna have to build her base from scratch, and that Space Station was her ideal fortress of solitude in Space to be nigh impossible to siege, and to easily send Raptures anywhere all over the world. I think that Shift Up really outdone themselves, from the characters to the story and, of course, the music, which is the crucial part in all of this. Cinderella destroyed her core. Without the core for life support the brain dies within hours without special equipment. That's why Crown had to get Chime's body back from Indivilia and her head/brain was kept on life support in the mech.

I know it's a lost cause but I'm still holding out that Red Shoes may actually be a good character. Imagine that everything we have on her, all her logs, conversations, backstory and saying she thought all this stuff up when she was human, every last bit of it is a fabrication and lie being told by her corrupted version while poor old Red Shoes has been as helpless as Cinderella the entire time. Imagine if VTC set it all up, corrupted Red Shoes and turned her into a villain because she'd be so good at researching it, and be the perfect scapegoat when it was discovered. I so, so so SO hope this'll happen because it would just be the perfect twist and such a gut-punch if it was ever revealed that Red Shoes was begging to be saved for far longer than Cinderella.

On the technical side, hate to be that guy, if Abe never made the 2nd models this would've been over early into Red Ash. RH couldn't be corrupted, and the Goddesses would have done what Cindy did, she did this after most of humanity died. It would be very hard to convince me that Lilith would've performed worse than Cindy let alone the rest of Goddess. So, while she 'won' by disconnecting the elevator, the cost was impossibly high.

Red Shoe's research was in parallel to the 2nd gen models, meaning that the corruption evolution was going to happen even if Cinderella and the others didn't exist. Cinderella's turn was more of the unveiling of a new advanced form of corruption. RH was already showing corruption symptoms before the briefing for the Queen raid attempt.

​@horuen9732 humanity never won except Goddess. That's canon. Meaning the lab with living Raptures only existed because she could fight them as a GRIMMs model. As she stated herself, agree needed both money and power. As a researcher some she wouldn't be able to have hundreds of Nikke, even if we assume as a human she already had that idea. The simple fact is even if I assume the most of Red Shoes even being delayed a week on corruption would've gotten the Queen killed. Remember Cindy's maintenance was HOURS before the assault on the lift.

Money for her own secret lab. Power to catch both Raptures and Nikke. Had none of the model 2s were made she couldn't even do her experient. Unless you think a human can capture hundreds of Nikkes and Raptures. And saying Red Shoes could complete it when 2x she said she was unable wouls be unfair. She didn't have the ability because she needed test subjects in a hidden lab, Raptures and Nikke. No one helped her, she needs physical power to catch both. Then she herself said her corruption failed. She needed the back and forth with the Raptures.
