​@@dasfaodfadsfanfklawe When you would collide with spikes, first the game checks if you're in midair and the direction of your movement, and if you're moving in the same direction as the spikes, they don't hurt you. This allows you to pass through one-way platforms with spikes on top, for example. In this case, because you're on an object that's continuously moving up, your y-velocity is never in a downward direction (against the spikes), so the spikes don't hurt you. If you were to miss a jump input and be actually standing on the spikes for a frame (which is what you would probably end up doing if you were to try this RTA), you would die.

Before I watched this video before bed, I was doing Summit B-Side casually (for the 2nd time after not playing for months). It took me about an hour of trial and error to complete all of Summit B-Side. Not only does the TAS do it in 5 minutes, it does literally everything else in the game in less than that one hour, too. I love TAS. :EDIT: And the fact that it's so fast, even though it doesn't implement the cutscene skip in Farewell to keep double dashes is crazy.

So, here's how the dashing through spike walls ("demodash") works: Spike walls are actually made of little circles that are the actual part you can't touch, and the visual spikes are drawn around them. This is usually fine, because they're placed too close together for Madeleine to get between them. However, if you get your [EDIT: placement] _absolutely perfect,_ you can make her crouch and dash simultaneously in midair, which makes her small enough to slip between these little circles without touching them.

The strat at 21:28 is is VERY CLOSE to being possible. The spike jump is very annoying and I even ALMOST TOUCHED THE KEY but I was just too low. I did this trick for around 10-15 minutes and I gave up right after.
