SVD for general purpose roaming. Val would be better for camping places where people tend to stand still such as wells or even cars. As someone who’s experienced being sniped at by a VSS at long range, there’s a terrifying quality to seeing bullets kick up around you in a dead quiet setting and not hearing a single gunshot.

The best thing about both of these guns are the AP rounds, from what I've tested they completely ignore plate carriers and give you a reliable 2 tap no matter the armor on an enemy, and that constiency is invaluable

The canted sights are so weird. You're meant to tilt the gun, but also the sight is attached to a rail attachment, which is attached to the gun. Really both should be items just like the handle iron sights for the m4

Great info as always Wobo. The canted sights seem redundant in my opinion, they are mainly used for close quarters situations when the primary optic is of high magnification. You can switch between the irons and sights but only with red dots, which are perfectly functional at CQB anyways and when utilising the ACOG optic, the toggle switches to the 4x magnification and the backup irons mounted atop the scope only. Agree they do look cool AF though.

It's the other way around. The rifle needed iron sights for when you do not have a sight and regular BUIS would block ACOG.

The character doesn't tilt the SVAL to look through the canted sight. Also I get with the sights being on the left, rounds would eject more towards the floor if the gun was tilted but it would personally feel weird to tilt my gun right instead of left to use a canted sight, so I'd have them on the right side

Wobo, I have a humble request, since I noted a pattern. The damage bug of the revolver got resolved so quick in the experimental branch following your video, that I really think you should use your power to guide the devs attention towards the most important bugs. I mean there are several issues and tickets sitting in the feedback tracker, buried below an immeasureable amount of spam-like tickets. For example a severe bug in the CLE, causing items to spawn in clusters / close vicinity on the map. See report from sanguine in ticket T152626. Thank you for your help. Maybe you could use your network of knowledgeable persons like Gews to make a "collection" of the important things that would help improve the experience of players tremendously. Thanks again.

I'd still pick SVD for sniping over anything, with Tundra as second best replacement. Close-quarters though mostly due to RPM VSS and SVAL come out on top for sure. Checked the RMP on WOBO TOOLS. Very helpful stuff, my guy!

Well you can use the tilted sights with the optics attached so you can choose what you want to use? Because optic sights cover the standart sights on the gun. You justs tilt the gun and you can use them even if you had optics on gun.

The ASVAL was never intended to be a DMR unlike the VSS , strictly for use in cqc environments and only allowed for a select SF units in Russia.

Shooting long distance with either the AS VAL or the VSS puts both weapons completely out of their element. They're designed to be used no further out than say 300m. They're very specific weapons made for clandestine or undercover operations, so please keep that in mind before you snipe at 600m with one.

I know this video is outdated but would be cool if there was a button to look at the top of your magazine to see if you have ap/tracer rounds next. And maybe an action to helmet tap your mag to prevent bullet jams by idk let's say 2%.

The only bad thing about asval and vss is the smoke that covers all your vision when fired in full auto.Which makes it a good weapon for buildings fights but on the open field you better to shoot semi auto because you enemy simply can move a little bit and you wont see it. Also the way out is to not aim downsights which can makes it slightly better. Heres also a huge thing about sniping that wasnt noticed that your bullet flying almost impossible to hear because of this slow bullet which makes sniping super stealthy up to 200 meters.

Probably using the VSS with the 20 round AS-VAL mag will be huge ... since you can use the nightvision and PSO scope on the VSS - of course you can use the ATOG to snipe with the AS-VAL but that's up to personal preference. Overall I think the VSS with the AS-VAL mag will be my sniper rifle of choice ... pair than up with a silenced M4 and you're good to go

Good they've added this 20 rounds mag. Now these integrally silenced rifles are becoming interesting alternatives to other long range guns. I believe I've never had the chance to come by any of these guns due to item stacking by players / loot economy mechanics. (I think I've found a ruined SVD once without magazine) But thanks anyway 😀.

Both two shot in the chest if the enemy is wearing plate carrier, but as val and vss has MUCH faster fire rate. The person you're up against must be quite bad in order for you to win.

@@fl1x848 No, val and vss are not "MUCH" faster, its barely over a 10% difference. And when considering a VSS or VAL wont 1 tap someone in the head if they are wearing a good helmet like an LAR will, AND taking into consideration the LAR is far better at long range due to significantly better shell velocity, and the fact that ammunition is far more common and versatile for the LAR, and the fact that LAR literally does more damage, blood damage, and shock damage, need I go on? I would much rather have my LAR, its just supremely more versatile. Its better at hunting/ fighting bears, better at anything over 100m, better for sniping longer distances at moving targets, and its a beast at cqc. The val and vss are really only *slightly* better, and even thats disputable, in very close quarters due to the fact that it is a much shorter weapon and has slightly higher fire rate. and even then vss is garbage because it has only 10 round mag. This is coming from someone who has thousands of hours in the game and plenty of experience on lar and vss platforms. I dont even bother picking up the vss anymore if i have a mosin.

Sure the fal is better at long range but everyone runs with a secondary that's usually the Winchester or blaze. Even if it was a 1v1 long range then the vss has an advantage over being silent, you wouldn't even hear the orgin of the bullet while the fal gives your location away. While the vss isn't great for long range, it deals more damage over the fal at a distance of 470m. The vss has an advantage over it at night as it can take the nvg scope, while the pso1 scope is far better at long range compared to the acog because of the reticle. These two guns are heli tier so it's very likely a plate carrier would be on these two. If this is the case then blood and shock do not matter, and both will 2 tap the enemy. Vss is way better than the fal for hunting? When using a fal you would be giving your position away while the vss wouldn't. Hunting is the worst time to give yourself away because you will be stuck in one area waiting for your food to cook or just cutting up the animal. Both are fully automatic with 20 round mags. I think both have the same fire rate being 600 rpm. I feel that they have a slight difference in play styles that throwing them in an equal situation wouldn't be helpful. The guns only good if there is a tactic involved and both can't be a silent ghillie while also running around town with a cannon. I hear this is the part where we say we have no lives. Got 3.7k hours started on 1.0 update with 2.6k being on hardcore server.
