it is a glitch indeed, theres no walking at a tree trunk like that in reality, and dayz is all about that, infection apocalypse survival simulation (not talking about modded servers)

Just wanna say thx for showing this, man. I got close to 4k hrs in DayZ (not proud of it XD) and this added a hint of spice to how I pvp~ Love running to shots and getting into a tree to spot people or just hide from them until they come to me. I play like a rat and this just adds to my rat gameplay. Makes me feel like a Vietnamese rat!

kamensk military there is a huge tree near the Construction garage. climb up the ladder and jump onto the tree. Really fun place. So high up

I have also explored the slow walking and found some new places. For the 20% of the trees that cannot be climbed with slow walking, have you tried a fireplace or backpack below?

Yeah just barely touch the right and left and when you notice him moving up the tree just try to keep your left thumb from moving at all. I managed to get all the way up it tho. Nice little spot

I've tried this on The Survivalists. I haven't had any issue yet with any admins, but then again; I'm playing on a pretty populated server where the owner is the only admin at the moment doing everything on his own so it's not surprising that I haven't ran into any issues. I'll definitely update my comment if something happens, but I think it's stupid for admins to get mad at it. You're literally just getting into a tree... You're at a huge disadvantage if someone sees you. In my eyes, if someone gets killed by someone else in a tree; it's just a skill issue. This tree thing makes the game more fun and adds to the experience.

Holding control makes you walk. So on console, all you'd have to do is barely move the stick to make your character walk.
