Yes! I love watching old couples dance and have since I was a child watching dancing while my uncles fiddled. You can tell when people have been dancing together for decades because they have such synchronicity regardless of type of dance. They can talk, look around, their bodies have knowledge of each movement of the other. After 46 years of marriage, I guess I'm half of an old couple myself. It doesn't matter if we start at the beginning or shortly after, we've done it so much, we just know which foot to put first, if that makes any sense. When listening to these fiddlers, I often wonder things like how many times have you played this song or I picture them young, just starting, trying to learn but sounding like a cat is dying a horrible death, them feeling like they'll never get it and having no clue the day would come when they hardly had to think about it, the music is just there and as familiar as to them as their own knees are.
