I had the Rover 214 si 16 valve for a weekend . It was seriously the noisiest car I have ever driven . At 70 mph the damned thing was horrible. You were continually looking for higher gear . Not surprised when they went bust

scabbycat cat had the same, but it actually is pretty speedy for 1.4 engine and wasn't all that loud. On open roads I go constant 85 mph and it actually made less noise at that certain speed for some reason. Low gears sucked tho.
