The fucking screen going wild at 1:58 honestly took me back to being young, I near pissed myself laughing when Xeems paused to explain that it was normal, as I was literally thinking to myself "oh god, it's so realistic".

Its always funny explaining it to kids now cause the idea of hitting the tv to fix it is mind boggling to them, but once you explain a tv like a Zenith was like a brick of a furniture you’d hurt yourself more than the TV they would be like oh.

God imagine having to explain that the tvs back then would simply go crazy for a little while and you'd had to give them a good ol' smack... I'm not even that old and i feel my hair turning white after that

when I was a kid in the 2000s people talked about the 90s like it was yesterday and the 80s like it was last month. turns out, technologically and culturally, 40 years is a crazy long time.

Beanie Babies and Cabbage Patch Kids were a lot like NFTs. A lot of people bought them thinking they would get rich selling them later, only for the markets to crash because they weren't actually valuable.

The irony is that some of the more obscure shit that people didn't collect for profit is what rocketed in value. Random toys people are nostalgic can go for several hundred dollars now. There's less of this stuff out there, let alone in good condition.

Man toys r us was the shit. Going in and seeing the big super soakers that were all elaborate or the super expensive lego sets your parents said no to getting. Just going there seeing the super big toy sets was so cool.

I'm assuming you realize this, but the reason they put up spikes to stop the homeless from sleeping there is because it's cheaper than actually helping them. Cities put up hostile architecture in the hopes to get the homeless to move on to some other city and then it will be that mysterious other place that will have to deal with them. ETA also there's a lot of hostile feelings toward the homeless and people judge them for being homeless and don't want them in houses because obviously it's their fault they're homeless /sarcasm
