Don't delete anything! Your channel is full of gems. And please publish a full course on John McLaughlin's musical language, including in book form if possible. You are an underrated specialist of this demanding style and you have the guitar skills to play it!

Thanks Patrick. Really kind words and really appreciated! ...In the New year I am going to do either a Patreon or KZbin memberships and go into all of this stuff in greater depth and real detail., with a syllabus, as that's really the only way to piece this style together. Hopefully, I will start uploading content for this in early January.👍

Please don't delete anything! Agree completely with Patrickr below! You are arguably the best guitar teacher on the web- especially for very iconic guitarists like McLaughlin and Fripp...thank you for your insights, they are very valuable!!

Thanks Hiwatt, that's really kind! ..There are a few old videos that I am removing, but, only a few as they are the ones with very few views and are not the best quality. But, most of them will remain. 👍

What a beautiful sound you’re getting. Very reminiscent of McLaughlin in the early 90s. I love the voicings and always wondered how they were voiced.
@CliffordMartinOnlineАй бұрын
Thanks Joel, Yeah, I love the early 90's McLaughlin with the Wechter Nylon string Guitar and the trio. The live at Royal Festival Hall is an incredible album, really inspiring👍
@joelroberts1581Ай бұрын
Yes, that particular period is one of my favourite too. It’s fabulous to see you doing this playing on a nylon string, I haven’t seen much of it.

Hi, I think I just recorded this video on an iphone 13 and added some Chromaverb [ 19% to 70%] in Logic X afterwards in the editing. It was really basic, but the chords themselves tend to bring out the resonance of the guitar really well. I think that's why they work so well in John's trio with Trilok Gurtu 👍

can you also explain the substitutions pls??))

Is this actual music by McLaughlin (and if so, whence from)? Or is it a composition of your own?
@CliffordMartinOnlineАй бұрын
Hi Wonder, it's how John Re-Harmonises chord sequences. In this case I Vi ii V I seq with altered substitutions or slash chords. From this interesting composition can be made👍
