You need a VHS head cleaner tape to clean your VCR!

It's not like the head drums are dirty. They suffer from a wonky function encoder switch, which causes things like that to happen.

Great video your mode switche needs cleaning out everything proven dirty mode switches causes problem's like that all the time if you don't know what a mode switch is you can go online and say how clean out a mode switch in a VCR player and every other videos online will come up what you need to watch online
