I remember saying about adding weight/a weight or adding a weight to the rotor to do this exact thing on a siren group.. to give it a longer wind up and down. Its funny to see how some people reacted to what i said and the fact its a literal fact 🙄This video displays exactly what i meant! So thank you for showing this and awesome work, keep it up :)

I see my problems now. I tried having one of these little HVAC motors move a giant 9-inch rotor, and it barely can. If I have a rotor around the same size as yours, they'll probably run really fast with torque to spare. Also, that's an amazing wind-down on that mini STH-10! Great job!
@nascarsimracing111 күн бұрын
@milespeterson5049 thanks!!! Do you know the horsepower of that motor? The one on my old STH10 is a Dayton 6NZP8A, which is a 1/10 hp. And the rotor on the old sth is 6.77" in diameter. It peaks a little higher pitch in the stator because the STH10 has thin slits for the ports, causing a little restriction on the air and resulting in less drag on the motor. When i tested the rotor free air, its pitch wasn't too far off.
@milespeterson504911 күн бұрын
@@nascarsimracing1 I tried using a 1/15 HP motor for my 9-inch rotor, and I can safely say that it couldn't move it. I think if I can just make a smaller rotor for it, it can work similarly to yours! Funnily enough, I used a Dayton motor as well.

This is as big as some European sirens are. The Elektror S3 is very similar in size, some of them are being installed in smaller towns. The STH/STL sirens must be huge.
@nascarsimracing13 күн бұрын
@djkarcher1896 yes! Sth10s and stl10s have 24" diameter stators (measured from one end to the other at the flange where the intake bolts on) and they have 20.5" rotors!! The standard full length stand legs are 48 inches long. Intake is 12" in diameter. Very large sirens. Even larger with all the horns on!
@djkarcher18963 күн бұрын
@ that's impressive, they must be pretty damn loud. I'd have to fly across the pond to witness one live. The loudest sirens we have in Austria are some Hörmann HLS 573 in Vienna, followed by the Rosenbauer FS8, which to me is already very loud. The HLS blows your shoes off, it's brutally loud, and it sounds like a trumpet.
@nascarsimracing13 күн бұрын
@@djkarcher1896 that is awesome!!!! I really wish i could experience one of those HLS pneumatic sirens in person. They're very well designed, and hearing one would be the experience of a lifetime!

@TheSirenManiacYT the all grey one, yes. The grey/red combo one is why the printables currently says "soon to be completely redone". Once i finish that one, it will completely replace the current mini STH stl files.

I have a question about the sth 10 and 3t22 with the rotor hole number difference.
@YourAverageMODude14512 күн бұрын
It's for printer tolerances, the hole size increases by 0.1mm, I recommend printing the tolerance tool to find out what size is best to use on your printer

Can you tell me how to make this? Like what 3d file i need and motor and weight for motor i need?
@nascarsimracing12 күн бұрын
@maxgamingyt17 you need a samsung DE31-00029H motor, and a 10uf cbb61 capacitor for it. And the weight is a 90mm OD, 65mm ID, 5.25mm thick metal thrust washer. The files aren't up yet bc i haven't finished the redo. Currently focusing on another project right now.
