One of the songs that Mickey Newberry wrote: "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)", by The First Edition. Give it a listen if you haven't heard it.

Great stuff. And he is right on about Verlon. I encourage a potential session of story telling from him also. Hope to see more soon from Mr Trapp. Thanks for what you do sir.

Thanks, guys, and thanks for answering the question of why musicians always wear black. I’ve wondered about that for years.😊

Back in 2003 when I left my day job at Kodak they still made "TRI_X and Plus_X B&W film. You had to develop it yourself, or send it to Kodak. 90% developed it themselves, and printed it. --gary

Great Interview. Guthrie is quite articulate and fascinating personal and family history. Appreciate learning about musicians like Gove Scrivenor, Hank Cochrane, Red Lane, Mickey Newberry, Chuck Cannon. Treasure trove again from Mr. Gibbs.

@otisgibbs, any chance you could ever get Jim McGuire to sit down for an interview? His portrait and album cover work is so important to musical history of Nashville, yet he is so under appreciated.

musicians ARE artists....those not performing for the love from the heart but for the money are pop stars business people whatevers..... that is NOT to say artists dont desrve need should get paid as we should but to me thats the difference....being a pop star is fine if thats what ya want fame stupid amounts of money etc but thats not an evluation of artistic expression......rant over
