Never drink water from a stream that's being filtered through a dead cow! That's a saying of mine because it happened to me on a hunting trip. We ran out of water and came upon a nice stream. Looked it over a bit and it seemed good. I filled my canteen and after a big swig we commenced hunting again. We hiked up stream and topped a small hill. That's when we saw a decomposing cow with the stream flowing right through it. Not the best filtration system I've seen. It was a cold cup of coffee for sure.

Santee! Mouthpiece is still slang for lawyer (at least in the UK)! Oh, and a wrinkle still means a trick, as in: 'Is there a wrinkle we can work in that'. I have heard picture used to mean face. Cold coffee has no meaning over here, but we do say of an unpleasant event that it: 'went down like a cup of cold sick.' Thanks a lot.

Something I’ve wondered for a while, is that “I’m your Huckleberry,” line from Tombstone 1999 real? I’ve seen it listed in 19th century slang compilations but when I look for references all I get is the movie.
