For the people who have issues with the amount of space black ops 3 takes (at least on xbox), it automatically downloads both the single zombies map and the multiplayer/zombies map pack so it basically downloads the same map twice when you only need 1. So delete all the single zombies map add-ons and keep all the multiplayer/zombies map packs like Salvation, Descent etc. expect for the Giant which only comes in single form. It will save you around 50 GBs of storage

Outside of the roaming pap with no actual indication of where it is and it being on BO4 that maps is great

Honoured to have been included in this one :) I get what you're saying about Five and Classified and I agree pretty much with everything you said. For me I just like the escape to a simpler, less hectic experience from the other maps in BO4. There's always some chicanery happening in the other maps so it's nice to take a break with the relatively relaxed gameplay. Five is part of the chicanery in BO1 and with how challenging it is I have to like mentally prep a little before going in.

Hot take: ZNS is better than Gorod Krovi and Revelations. ZNS has a unique, versatile and powerful wonder weapon, fairly straight forward ee (apart from the fact you have to complete all the challages), a mini boss fight! Free widows wine, a cool atmosphere, unique dog round enemy, a unique plant system, the best specialist weapon and more. Additionally if you complain about the power system that’s just a skill issue. (Not that GK and Rev are bad maps) (And I know the thrasher sucks I agree)

Hot take: Dead of the night is an S teir map The layout is perfect The wonder weapon is way too fun and good The side quests are too much fun like the crossbow, stake etc. Not only that I go as far as saying that if you like shadows you would love dead of the night. Shadows has a unique pap quest where you interact with objects so does dead of the night. Or big boss enemy with obvious weak point or the hilarious cast or even how the perks will change every game but you can see where they are with hints on both maps.

Hot Take: Dead Of The Night is not a difficult map, the main problem is the people not willing to learn the Part Locations and the quests. The Allistairs Folly (Unlock) Quest is small and simple but really fun, and the Upgrade Quests are worth it. The Allistairs Annihilator is an Aesthatically slick and strong gun. The Main Easter Egg and the Boss Fight are also really fun mainly because of the challenge and skill required to beat this Easter Egg.

Going off that last comment, it's crazy just how much powerups sucked when I was learning the game in BO1. Nukes lose you way more points than they give. Carpenters can kill you because instead of a slow trickle of zombies, you can get like 10 stuck behind a barrier that all swarm you at the same time. Death machines could easily kill you since you walked so slow and it did no damage. Even a fire sale would almost always result in someone dying from trying to get to the box instead of paying attention. Double points, insta, and max ammo were the only consistently good drops.

I kinda agree that, modern zombies has ailments that make it more addictive then old style like BO3. For me, the health bars, hitmarkers and exp pop ups gives me dopamine hit. Not to mention that new movement system. I'm honestly hyped for BO6 Zombies. After MW3, I completely stopped playing PVP games. Can't wait to hit prestige 10, lvl 1000 in Zombies. I think my hottest take would be burger town zombies from AW being their best maps and one of my favorite maps overall. I loved the movement jumping on top of buildings and trucks and navigating the sewer that has alligators haha. My favorite feature was the toxic gas thatll turn you into an infected and closed off parts of the map forcing you to play the map in different areas instead of your favorite kiting spot all damn game. ALSO loved how in the higher rounds the toxic are will cover the entire map except the sewer so you and your friends are just screaming jumping up and down levels dodging zomvies in a tiny sewer play place. It was so much fun ill never forget those chaotic memories haha

8:12 i completely agree with Michael. There’s still a very few maps i enjoy going back to on WaW and Bo1 and 2. I much prefer doing an easter egg, some achievements/trophies or just do the little in-game challenges that gives you a calling card. The only game i like to go back to and play just for the maps without doing these stuff, is Ghosts. Extinction is underrated, especially the skull and teeth system. It’s a better difficulty system than any zombies had, and a way better system of upgrades than cold wad had for example.

Biggest faluire in zombies is failing to make high round survival engaging past round 30. After round 25, all maps should introduce some element/s that periodically mixes up the flow of gameplay. Instead of just increasing zombie health or damage, introduce dynamic fluidity to maps that force players to periodically rethink their strategies. Blocking off or areas, adding/removing/shuffling wall weapons, moving perks around, maybe even adding new perks that weren’t originally there (giving them the late game a sense of progression).

Non zombies related hot take: Few people gave CoD Ghost's Extinction mode a chance, especially zombie players, but it's not as bad as most people thought. Extinction is a unique mode meant more for more casual games, it's a bit difficult even when you play on normal difficulty, but that difficulty made the games intense and entertaining especially when you played with friends. God, the fight against the Kraken or the final part of the Mayday map conveyed excitement because of the setting and all the things that happened during the mission.

About the bo3 being less casual than bo4, i agree. Dont get me wrong i am a hardcore fan of zombies, im just extremely shit, so in bo3 i never got past round 20 while i got multiple round 100s on bo4, its not even due to spawning with jug in bo4, my reasoning for this is the zombies hit you much slower in bo4 which makes a huge difference. In bo3 you have jug and get caught in between 2 zombies, you are most likely dead unless you have widows and the zombies hit you as soon as you get close but in bo4 they actually make a swing animation before damagaing you. This is why i think bo4 is a lot more casual plus i figured out pack and power for ix, classified and voyage by myself but like shadows ive never built the pack more than twice because i just die.

Hot take: BO3 has the best guns. Guns in WaW-BO2 are all top heavy, for instance the bo1 weapons are either really good or completely unusable. No matter what you get inside the box or buy off the wall is useful to run with plus with the weapons classes and PaP makes it the best out there.

Hot take: The armor system in Cold War existed because they didnt have a mechanic for shields in game (BO2,3,and 4 all had shield mechanics, even though BO3 didnt actually have shields as usable in MP, and BO4 only had the specialist Ajax able to use a shield in MP), yet they **had** to include the warzone armor mechanic because of Activision. But, as there seems to be a constant of players bitching about riot shields in the MW series, its unlikely shields will be introduced in BO going forward, and while Treyarch could always add shield mechanics specifically for Zombies, asking them to do so instead of the armor system that they already have to use because of warzone integration, just seems selfish.

The Winters Howl stops being 1 shot at round 15. (I like the map better, but the missing ingredient were the Presidents)

Every main map in BO3 before ZC is unnecessarily overly complex, and all except DE have high ceilings to get to the basics like power and pack-a-punch. Most of the time you DO need a guide for them. Shadows of Evil is also considered good because of nostalgia bias

Revelations and Gorod don't even have high ceilings tho? Revelations is super simple, only issue is maybe getting the apothicon but even then it basically tells by having the computer Bars fill up. Getting pack a punch on that map is as simple as der riese and Ascension. Gorod is also simple, the only hard part I'd say is knowing where to put the Capsules but there's also a map itself on the map to tell you

The gun selection in bo3 leaves much to be desired. The majority of the weapons feel the same being average, and the AAT dont help the case, as every weapon can take a horde with dead wire by shooting once. It misses the uniqueness of weapons like the bo1 pap crossbow or the pap ballistic knives, and the satisfaction the og weapon sound gave, like the bo1 m1911.

I love bo1. But damn its 1 dimensional play style of just wonder weapon box trades and traps at the high high rounds is so time consuming. shang is an exception because of the monkeys giving you max ammoes. I just end the game when the weapons fall off and the ww runs out of ammo for its first time which for me is usually around round 35 to 40 depending on rng. The aat and engine on bo3 is just way more enjoyable and is faster since the zombies hyper sprint at high rounds and you can infinitely slide. I just love the faster gameplay.But obviously bo1 is still golden and I will always come back to play it.

8:55 blood of the dead is much worse than mob for many reasons in my opinion. for one the characters fit the map much less than the mobsters. the guns are not as fun and satisfying to use and the power is much more boring. the pack a punch process on mob of the dead is fun and gives more objective than the one on blood of the dead. also, the hell's retreiver on mob is worth using more because of spawning with specialists. this is all without mentioning the fact that blood of the dead is on black ops 4, a game with very unpopular mechanics. there's no progression on blood seeing as you basically spawn with jug, don't have to conserve afterlife charges, don't have to learn how to build the plane, and don't have to earn a good specialist. blood of the dead is one of my favorite black ops 4 maps but there's no way it's better than mob of the dead.

My hot take that may get me in trouble with the zombies gods but To me if it wasn't for origins and mob of the dead, black ops 2 zombies may have failed badly. I say this because tranzit and die rise had so many issues and annoying gameplay. Mob of the dead felt like it took the systems in maps and perfected them with telling such a good story. Origins took what made mod great and did it better. Now im not saying mob and origins are prefect but they made black ops 2 zombie much. I will admit buried was better than the first 2 maps but was to easy. Origins did have a very confusing ending at the time

Hot Take: Mob of the Dead is massively overrated. It's way too big to the point where Stamin-Up is almost necessary, the Wonder Weapons start to crap out early, and the EE is primitive as hell, as you've pointed out in the video. The Hell's Retriever and Redeemer are cool, and so is the atmosphere, but if the map isn't fun to play, why even bother

I'm sorry but the PaP on GK is not casual friendly. It's simple, but it requires a few bits of vital info that would take a casual forever to find on their own. Saying GK's PaP is casual friendly is like saying building any of the staffs is casual friendly; just ride the tank, just dig up the parts during snow, just shoot the robot's feet. Never mind the face that casuals aren't likely to know the map and will probably let the groph module die before they find it.

GK's PAP is Der Riese with 1 more step. You collect the cylinders which drop very frequently, and put them in at the 3 dragon stations. When you collect the drops they tell you what area to go to and a first time player can easily find them if they're paying attention to their surroundings because maps are everywhere in GK. When the groph module spawns in, it's very loud and makes a huge explosion upon landing so it's impossible for a first time player to not notice. Also there's a green light in the sky that leads you right to it so as long as they're not looking at the ground, they'll see that as well. The only thing that might be hard for a first time player to figure out is placing the parts in the Operations Bunker but again, if they look at one of the 10 maps on GK, they'll see where the Operations Bunker is and their brain should put 2 and 2 together and go there to place them.

@JoltzYT you overestimate casuals. Firstly, I don't think they would know the names of areas since it's not on the HUD. Secondly, even if they find it they would have to find the correct terminal to put the module in which is difficult even when I describe the areas to them. Thirdly, the green light does tell you where it is but it doesn't tell you how to get there so they would probably get lost and the module would die. Lastly, how would they know where to put the parts after? I don't play GK that much but I don't remember anything in game telling me to put the parts in the operations bunker, I knew from tutorials.

Gorod krovi is so f*cking insufferable. The map by itself is dope and I love it but the Easter egg steps make me want to rip my hair out at some points. I do all my ee attempts solo so having to reset and do all that tedious shit again from start is easily the biggest blow to my motivation. The only other map has come close to pissing me off as much as shadow just because I couldn't beat it solo even if I did everything perfectly BECAUSE OF ONE STEP

Activision not making all gums and black market items in BO3 available was a huge miss. I think if they gave everyone every gobble gum for infinite or even 5 uses per game alot more people would be playing BO3 casually. It’s a dead game Activision let us have some fun yet I’m here grinding divinium in 2024

Origin bad because of rng is crazy. Obviously haven't played moon or ascension 💀💀. Origins is easily done if you know what you're doing and replayed it multiple times to understand the map. Fastest time i think was less than 30mins to do the ee on origins and DE is done less than 30 mins as well. I feel like there isn't alot of rng, yall are missing a step that prevents you to move on or messing up

Bo3 ruined the story for zombies as a whole it also made the mode too dependent on quests instead of gameplay and when chronicles released it also made the mode extremely dependent on nostalgia. So BO3 had a worse impact on zombies in the long term.

I heavily disagree that bo3 is more casual friendly than bo4. Bo4 has a tutorial mode, most wonder weapons in the box, a specialist ability right off the start, and literally an easier difficulty. Yes Bo4 EE are more challenging but EE arent for casuals. And the pp quests are the same as Bo3 some easy some more challenging.

Hot take: out of all the bo1 original maps( not including remakes) call of the dead is the best map, kino and Ascension are really easy and become boring, five and Shang become to hard for most players while moon and dead ops are the least played because people find the least enjoyment in them. Call of the dead had two wonder weapons a new cast boss and theme, first time pap moved and the first ee, cotd is the best

Origins is waaaaaaay better than SoE. All 4 players can get a ww (staffs), air strikes, the melee attack (upgraded version too) , golden shovels everyone can have 7 perks and you can do the EASTER EGG SOLO nothing like SoE. And DE is just a wanna be Origins.

@@JoltzYT appthicon is deff top 2 ww only the thunder gun can really compete with it no doubt. Makes no sense to make SoE 4 player ee when they don’t offer anything to all 4 players besides sword. DE ee is aight the wisp step is hella annoying but beside that no complains. I enjoy the map but I still think origins is just better even for speedrunning.

Origins is great. Panzer over Margwa. The sound is still terrifying. Robots were visually amazing. Tank travel was better than the tram. Staffs were more fun than the bows IMO. Apothican Servant was just a gersch device launcher. Going to Agartha was better than Trapping the Shadowman. Besides Nero, the celeb cast on SoE wasn’t good. SoE is a copy paste of origins on a dark and less appealing map. DE is a copy paste of Mob on in a different setting. Yes DE has a great quest and beautiful story for Tank. But super annoying panzers ruins the experience with shock charges every 2 secs. There really isn’t anything original in SoE or DE besides Widows Wine and Boss Fights. Beast Mode is Zombie Blood plus Ziplines.

@JoltzYT when you really sit back and think about it they didn't have to cut it dude. they could've taken their ideas and implemented them in maybe a more toned down but fully recognizable and enjoyable way. Those Two maps show they could've made it better. I mean there's no way in hell they played that build and all agreed that it was good enough. I mean if they're sitting there building it and they see something isnt gonna be fun they should be at least figuring out a little small ways of fixing those mistakes. I mean it doesn't have to be time-consuming and mind draining it could just be simple little tweaks to at least fix the issues in a more fun and Progressive Way.

Hot take: Bo4 is a good game that had its reputation ruined by big zombies KZbinrs uploading their misinformed trash-takes and by making EXTREMELY bad guides that put people off. BoTD and Voyage are NOT hard maps if you know the steps and have the right loadout. Asking how someone feels about ROFLWaffles is a good litmus test to see how good someone is at zombies, because literally nobody with any map knowledge would ever consider his ee guides to be anything more than hastily posted slop made for ad revenue. Proof: Watch his Voyage shield guide, Ancient Evil theater step, and I'm told his guide for Gorod is pretty misinformed too. If you meet someone who says something along the lines of "I used to play Kino with my boys back in the day, I'm pretty decent" you're about to play one of the worst games of your life (Particularly if you're carrying them through an easter egg. They'll go down a billion times and flip rounds constantly due to poor impulse control) Those are my hot takes

I dont like doing easter eggs, i do them once and then never again. I think the time where i stopped playing new zombies was in BO3, gobblegums and alternate ammo types just made zombies too easy (still not insanely easy). I remember clearly a lot of the community agreed at the time, that it basically made zombies way too easy and less fun. It also undermines wonder weapons to a degree. I respect people like BO3 and the easter eggs are super cool, but as a person who likes to go for high rounds and who hates having to do 20 steps to craft shields, weapons, special nades and upgrades essentially needing a damn video guide to get set up feels pretty terrible to me. Also Five and Shang ri la are my favorite maps cause i think they are difficult and also small rooms on average pretty cool map. Oh yeah also screw maps where high round strat is essentially camping in a small room or corner, it seems like bad game design to me training to get high rounds should be a part of the game.

For me de is just overrated and is a origins clone and is just old ideas done worse. Soe is great but it definitely ain't perfect imo . I honestly don't like bo3 as it's easy af even with no gum or aats. That's why I like zns most as it requires a lot of skill other than the Gorod Krovi ee
