The Golden Stitch : The Essence, The Emergence, and The Evolution
The outlier stitch ~ Pre 1890s (before the rivet's patent was expired), the arcuate stitch was an outlier in the waist overall detail. As it served no main function other than decorative detail.
The lost stitch ~ It is not known if that infamous arcuate stitch was an exclusive stitching or it was a common thing to see that kind of design on the back pockets of other workwear garments at that time. Moreover, no one knows the origin of that stitching, or whether it had a reminiscent of anything. as the company lost all of its historical records in the 1906 earthquake and fire, along with the arcuate's origin.
The stitch evolution ~ From the ribbon arcuate to the broken arcuate. Sewing all the dreams, stitching towards the value and identity.
A good recognition sometimes emerges as a double-edged sword. We all aware ‘bout all the positive impact. The other side impact, is simply the basic foundation why we made this short video. As we really put a high value on openness and transparency, we want all of our customers aware of this situation directly from our point of view. All the complete and unbiased information. Not just a sudden change without any basic yet meaningful rationalization.
The arc articulation ~ Only decorative, but there’s always something more than meet the eye.
Looking this as a threat is maybe a lot easier, but as always we keep our heads up and looking this as an opportunity ~ an opportunity to discover our identity deeper and deeper, a force to differentiate us even more. An opportunity to move forward, to release ourselves from the big shadow behind us. A cliche, but everything happens for a reason. And it’s our job in the end to find the right reason.
In summary, we would prefer to stand by our internal core value which is our reputation in quality and workmanship, rather than to stand for our external and decorative elements. We’re fully aware of how the importance of that stitch has evolved, but we won’t rely on just the exterior. our core identity is in the denim itself. Which we pour sweat, blood, and tear into it.
And after all these things, the great admiration towards the big guy is still there, but only as far as the inventor and the originator perspective.

sangat total dalam setiap produksi jeans dan jacket maupun pelengkapnya. bentuk, materialnya, detailnya, sampai finishingnya memang patut membuat bangga si pemilik jeans ini, seperti yang bro yax sampaikan di chapter awal. kreatifitasnya yang membawa kita seakan kembali ke era jeans yang masih di gunakan oleh pekerja kasar di amerika. jujur gue kaya ngeliat museum arc dan leather patch model dari OBC ini. di awalnya gue masih asing dengan arc yang baru itu dan menurut gue masih kece-an yang sebelumnya, tapi pas di jabarkan detail dan filosofi dibaliknya anjriit sekuutzz. mau tanya aja, kira kira ada project collabs apa lagi dari OBC dengan brand lokal? apakah OBC mau mencoba dengan brand Kustom Kulture yang belakangan ini sedang naik daun juga. hehe
