Ай бұрын

OLDBURY TOWN CENTRE no longer has much HERITAGE as it was all lost in the mad dash to build a big shop

If you had noticed as you ventured around to the library by the bus stops you would have seen that the library is named Jack Judge House, named after John ( Jack ) Judge who was born in Oldbury in the then county of Worcestershie, details as follows :- " Jack Judge Born John Judge 3 December 1872 Oldbury, Worcestershire, England Died 25 July 1938 (aged 65) West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England Monuments Bronze statue, Lord Pendry Square, Stalybridge Nationality British Occupations Song-writer Music-hall entertainer Known for Songwriting Notable work "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" John Judge (3 December 1872 - 25 July 1938) was an English songwriter and music-hall entertainer best remembered for writing the song "It's a Long Way to Tipperary". Judge originally wrote and sang the song in 1912, but the far more widely known John McCormack acquired greater name recognition with the song." Marvellous whats under our very noses Phil but we fail to notice, by the way what Camera are you using , possibly 4K, nice quality Mike

The camera is a dji osmo action 4 not using 4k because they take forever to process simply using 1080/60 mind ya to get more space on the micro sd i've been using 1080/30 can't say I can tell much difference in quality

@@awalkwithphilI agree, I use a Gopro Hero 9 fitted to a very strong clip which fits on the front of basket on the mobility scooter, and also DJI Pocket 3 creator combo, which I just hand hold, the camera I use for distant shotsi is a Canon PowerShot SX60 HS Overview Maker Canon Lens Lens 65x Zoom 35 mm equivalent: 21-1365 mm), difficult to hold steady at full zoom and light can be an issue, butin the park its Ok at 25x, I bought it theday it was launched in 2014 and is still going strong, it wasthe firstCanon camera in this class that featured an externalmicrophone jack and yes 4K takes ages to upload, not too badwith the Mac but takesageson my old Windows PC, one more question please Phil, what editing software do youuse , I usedto use imovie but then movedonto DaVinci Resolve but finding it so much hardwork, my apologies for the joined up words but blame the ipad for that, cheers Mike

@@Outandaboutwithpoggy it sounds like you have a great set up, i doubt you will need much else, you have all bases covered. I use Imovie its a little limited but so far it meets all my needs. But i'm sure i will probably look into something else when I attempt to improve the video quality, but its still early days. Many thanks

That's when it went down hill, what I miss is loads of older people walking around, sorry but I despair in not seeing them anymore, also frightened the pubs will all shut down, and all the old shops that are no longer with us sad sad

I remember Lloyds bank was a knocking shop , about 15 years ago l took the police ages to raid it and close it down , there used to be a brilliant cake shop but looks like that’s gone now

The tragedy of the 60`s and 70`s is the complete disrespect for characterful towns and villages

A lot of heritage was lost with the demolition of buildings around Freeth Street and Low Town but there are still one or two buildings of note which are now grade 2 listed, thanks for your comment
