I was born in 1961 at the Royal Hospital for Women in Paddington in Sydney. My first ride coming home from the hospital and my first ride in a car was a Morris low headlight car just like this maroon one. I don’t remember the event but I’ve been in love with cars ever since. What a beautiful car!

Indeed, funnily enough its former owner in Oz happened across and watched this video by chance, and spotted his car now here in the UK having not heard anything of it in years.
@davidarter6271Ай бұрын
@@oldclassiccarUK Really! Goodness it’s a small world. I trust the former owner was delighted to see his old car stroll being loved today.

Morning Richard . Well that was a show and a half ! Almost too much to see in one day . Who can't admire the time, money and work it takes to prepare the magnificent traction engines and steam lorries and the commercial vehicles of yesterday .lt must take hundreds of hours to bring these workhorses back to life . The shear variety of the farm machinery proved how every maker thought they had the best to offer . But for me the most impressive vehicles were the military varients and the sheer size of some . This must be a weekend gathering Richard as the organisation must take months to organise . Thankyou

Hi John, yes it's at least two days (possibly three) and set up I'm sure begins days in advance on site.

This has to be one of the most interesting videos that you have produced, with such a diverse range of military, steam, trucks, commercials and motorcars it was automotive overload. i liked the green Austin ute, and the Citroen big 15 (Familiale ?) also the grey coloured steam poweredtraction engine. It will be hard to top this show, thanks for your time and efforts.

Very enjoyable, lots more to see at this rally than normal. What I assume is a V12 Phantom RR was particularly nice. Many thanks to its owner for bringing it along. The early post-war & pre-war Austin's were particularly nice to see in such numbers. My Father worked at Longbridge during the war & for a short time afterwards in management. My eldest brother suffered from Asthma, so we moved round the country to find somewhere to live in order to get him home. So cars from the pre-war & post-war periods are the cars I grew up surrounded by. The best vehicle in the show? All of them, is my answer. My congratulations to the presenter for doing an excellent job, covering so many wonderful vehicles with as much equal fairness as he managed.

Great car show. I like the Citroen DS. Very nice in the green colour. There is an Australian guy on youtube and he has his channel. He was out in the countryside and there was some old cars rusting in a field. So on closer inspection of them , one was a Citroen ID. He called it a coakroach. He said thats what there design looks like. He also stated that he'd driven one. And it was very different. He didnt like them.

Hi Richard Great video as always - can I be a bit picky - you passed one the VW type 2 bay which was a pickup - at the start of your video - what when this was a unusual one as not many around now or are you anti - german machines. Warm regards Richard
@oldclassiccarUKАй бұрын
I'm in no way anti-German vehicles, having owned quite a few, but I can't always focus on every vehicle that attends. If you've seen the recent upload I did about the Grocott private collection of commercial vehicles, you'll see me wax lyrical about how impressed I was with the restoration of the VW pickup they have on display. Thanks.
