Older Silent Knight Alarm Inspection | Field Work Ep. 5

Hello, welcome back y’all! Today, I have another inspection video for y’all. This time, I’m at a hotel with a Silent Knight 5808 system. This system has Gentex commanders and older Silent Knight pulls plus the older Hochiki protocol Silent Knight detectors. Gentex on older silent knight is very common. Every old silent knight system i’ve seen has some sort of gentex appliances on them. Nothing wrong with that though. I love gentex appliances.

Bro the whole fire alarm system should completely updated especially the pull stations as a precaution if there was an actual fire and some of the fire alarm equipment would fail you know what I'm saying

The reason I would much rather pull it than key activate it is because it’s easier for me

I pull it mainly because i want to test the pull’s ability to actuate the switch. The mechanism that activates the switch can break and I’ve seen that happen where techs would test the switch and have the pull activate but then try to activate it by actuating the lever and not have it work.
