@CGray12342 ай бұрын
If you want a cheap system, conventional is the way to go. I use an MS2 and I recommend getting an MS2 or 4. They're both good starter panels that are very simple yet versatile. If you're going to be doing a larger-scale project, I recommend the MS4, and the MS2 for smaller-scale. As for pull stations and alarms, make sure the pull stations are conventional if you end up getting a conventional system. Most importantly do your own research to find out what equipment suits your project best.

How would you suggest that be done? it runs directly off the generator supply therefore mitigating the potential for transfer switch failure creating over temperature while the generator is running. I love the video, few comments that’ll either make me sound really annoying, or helpful. Hopefully the latter. 1: 2:55 It could just be my eyes, or the fact that the strobes aren’t easily picked up, but there looks to be a synchronization issue in this shot. 2: 8:20 Just a suggestion, maybe consider installing a CHSR, or CHSRL in the shed, it’s a similar thing to the horn in a bathroom issue, I know how annoying I sound. Great video, I don’t know how you do it. P.S. Jaxons really cute
@nics-systems-electric2 ай бұрын
i'm glad you enjoy. The strobes are synchronized that is a legal requirement for fire alarm systems and that is done through the synchronization protocol programmed into the system. cameras have a hard time picking up the strobe flash as it is a very fast discharge and even at 60 FPS it can be hit or miss if the strobe flashes at the same time as the sensor gathers image information especially in bright environments. I'm not sure why I would need a chime strobe in the bathroom there would be no purpose of that and would be a mixed signal which is illegal.

@@nics-systems-electric that’s the point. A horn strobe in that, maybe 2 or 3 square foot shed (≈1 square meter) could be dangerous. Picture this. You or someone in your family are searching for something in the shed when an initiating device malfunctions or dinner tripped a detector like in that one video. And say they’re searching on the left side of the shed. An advanced horn strobe, in those circumstances is more than enough to burst someone’s eardrum.
@nics-systems-electric2 ай бұрын
@@FireSystem45 not at all. it's very simple math that 1×2 would give you a two square-foot building. you wouldn't even be able to fit inside that. The building is 32 ft.² and a fire alarm device even on high volume legally cannot exceed 108 dB with the safe exposure time to that is 30 minutes. This device is set to low volume. Nor would it be possible to go off from cooking. For those reasons listed that's why it's fine to be a horn strobe.
