Nowhere in Bulgaria even Balkans (exept Bucharest) is better city than Sofia incase of infrastructure , organizationg and life quality. All other cute cities and towns in Bulgaria needs least 10 years to reach EU standarts

I was there last year. Wonderful place. But your info is incorrect. While there is evidence of a settlement of 6000-5000 BCE around Plovdiv, it's only continuously inhavited since 4th Millenium BCE, or about 3000 BCE. Athens and Argos in Greece however take the title for 2 of the 5 continously oldest inhabited cities on earth, next to Jericho, Damascus and Byblos. Argos and Athens have been continously inhabited since 5000 BCE, or 7000 years ago. Athens has however evidences of habitation between 11th and 7th millenium BCE, 13.000-9000 years ago. But as I also said with Plovdiv, it only counts from when it's continuously inhabited. Knossos in Crete was continuously inhabited since 7000 BCE until eventual destruction. and also Larissa and Thebes in Greece are also continuously inhabited since 5000 BCE. So those are 4 already (not counting Knossos) Anyway. We can safely say that Athens, Plovdiv and Argos, and Thebes and Larissa are the 5 oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe and with it the world, only surpassed by Jericho, Damascus and Byblos. Which is an incredible record.

We actually considered this! And you are absolutely right. I should have included "arguably" to ensure factual correctness. But thank you for the thorough information! I will definitely read more about this!
