When i was in my early 30s i was friends with a neighbor that was in her 90s. We'd sit in the complex parking lot talking about the good ole days. She knew i loved learning new things, she'd tell me about how her and her family went through the depression, wars, immigrating to the USA from Ireland. I always enjoyed sitting with older people and listening to their stories and sharing knowledge with eachother.

I had a similar experience with the mother of a dear friend. She recounted her youth, building a Sod House on the Prairies of Kansas and being home schooled until she was 18. I was captivated by her amazing experiences, and heart broken when she passed, at the age or 98!

As we move through our lives, and I'll be 82 in November, we try not to loose sight that we are still the same people we were when we were in our twenties! The difference, is that folks in their twenties expect us to be something different!
