Babymetal represents the "Birth of a New Genre of Metal" called 'Kawaii Metal' or Cute Metal. Of corse, the girls in Babymetal were only 11 and 12 years old when they started back in 2010 and it lead them down that path to a #1 Album, "Metal Galaxy", on the US Billbord Chart "Top Rock Album" in Oct. 2019 (First ever Asian/Japanese Band to ever do that!) and #13 on the "Hot 200" chart (that's the big chart that all albums from all genres are on) You Have to check out more Babymetal!! Pick a song by Babymetal...any song, and find the associated video on KZbin to react to it...they are a Gas Man!!!! (disclamer..they get blocked a lot so you may have to get creative to get your react vid up) Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Actually, mainly because of what you said in your disclaimer, I'd advise against randomly picking any video. Fans have a pretty good idea what's (more or less) safe to react to, so I'd stick with their recommendations. I'm sure there will be plenty.

They are blocked a lot because the Japanese are crazy with their copyright. The companies are overly protective of their creations, which makes sense. The concept of fair use doesn't exist over there.

Bring Me The Horizon are a British band ... they take their name, I believe, from what an old naval captain might have said to his helmsman as they set out to explore the oceans. Babymetal is a Japanese band and you won't have heard anything quite like them before. They formed in 2010 as an experiment fusing metal with J-Pop aesthetics and nobody thought it would ever amount to anything ... since they split from the parent J-Pop Idol group in 2013 they have gone on to become the most successful Japanese band of any genre outside of Japan of all time. They were the first Japanese band to headline Wembley Arena in London, the US Billboard's highest charting Japanese act in 53 years with their first album, the first Asian act (not just Japanese) ever to hit number 1 in the Billboard Hard Rock Charts with their third album. They have opened for Metallica and Judas Priest, toured with Korn and Stone Sour, Guns n Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Lady Gaga, played on stage with DragonForce and Rob Halford from Judas Priest and their last album contains collaborations with some artists including Joakim Broden from Sabaton, Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy and others. In 2010 Babymetal were Su-metal (lead vocals and the inspiration for their producer's madness - he is a lifelong metalhead and was so impressed with her vocal talents that he formed and developed the whole thing around her), Yuimetal and Moametal (officially called 'scream and dance' - that really means backing vocals, harmonies and their main function of hyping up and involving the audiences in live shows leading chants and performing the choreo which is largely designed to interpret song meanings). Su-metal was 12, Yuimetal and Moametal were 11 at that time. 11 years on, Su has just celebrated her 24th birthday, Moa is 22. Sadly Yui left the band in October 2018 for undisclosed health reasons - she last performed in October 2017. In live shows Babymetal are supported by their backing band - the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians. Bring Me The Horizon and Babymetal have been good friends for the last 6 or more years since they first met at a festival they were both playing in the UK and have often spoken about wanting to collaborate on something. At the end of 2019 Babymetal invited BMTH to tour with them in Japan - BMTH opened for them in 4 of their big arena shows there. For 'Kingslayer' Babymetal originally sent their contribution all in English. Oli Sykes from BMTH asked them to include some Japanese, which of course they did. I hope you will try more Babymetal - maybe the Legend of 1997 'Headbanger' live performance would be a good one for a reaction (Legend 1997 was the concert in December 2013 celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday - she was born in 1997).

Kingslayer song is harder than what BMTH has released the last few years, but it's definitely something BMTH could have released before. The song seems to have a The Matrix like story and game-world. It is as if Babymetal is playing a game and the Kingslayer is stuck in a bad world and trying to get out. 7:47 this part is very The Matrix-like, it's as if he left the game and is united with Babymetal outside of the game or something. BMTH added an intro song for this song called: Itch For the Cure. Which you guessed it is a reference to Linkin Park - Cure For The Itch (debut album Hybrid Theory). So their is a bit of a tribute there.

BABYMETAL has been one of the most talked about metal bands for over a decade. Bring Me The Horizon opened for BABYMETAL on one of their tours, and a strong friendship between the two bands emerged. BABYMETAL is a Japanese band, originally led by three young girls. They were ages 10-12 in 2010 when they formed. So their first album BABYMETAL (2014) had songs recorded when they were pre-teens on it. Many of their first songs were “cute”, and they obviously lip synched when they performed. They even had a fake band that mimicked playing their instruments. However, they still managed to capture the attention worldwide, and became popular in England and the US. Many metal purists called them a gimmick,. Rather quickly, they got a real band and began singing live on stage. They are widely known for their live shows. They arguably put more energy into one concert than most bands put into their entire tour. Reactions to BABYMETAL are extremely popular on KZbin. If you plan on doing a reaction to them, I strongly suggest doing a LIVE performance. Their music videos are ok, but they just don’t have the same energy as watching them live. It is particularly cool how, on songs like Headbanger (Legend 1997), they have complete control of massive crowds.

You are surely right if you heard other BMTH recent songs: they are not this heavy. They used to be really heavy back in the days, and the singer Ollie kinda ruined his own voice. In recent years he did much tamer songs, but in a recent interview he said that in Kinglsayer he just HAD to go as hard and heavy as he could, since the contrast with BabyMetal's voice was just so good that he just couldn't help it :D
@chrisharris15223 жыл бұрын
The reason for the lyric video is this album was recorded and released during the harsh covid lockdowns and it was impossible to get everyone together to make a video BMTH was in the UK with one member in the US and of course Babymetal was in Japan. BMTH have since performed it live and there are several fancams floating around youtube. I am not 100% on this but I think the band name was taking from a famous quote but I have no idea who said it.

Pray for Plagues. That is the first video from the Myspace band put out back in 2007. I believe Oli was 17. That is a screaming not able to understand many of the lyrics type of song. BABYMETAL and Bring Me The Horizon are two of my favorite Metal Bands and this song is just off the charts. Both of the bands are unapologetic when it comes to their music. BABYMETAL though, goes even further by infusing Jpop and Metal together. It is definitely genre defying. While the Jpop part is more evident in their first album, they have since created their own signature sound (and are continuing to break barrier with the Metal Galaxy album) and carved out a niche in the Metal community. Their Live performances are to die for. They even sound better live. I absolutely adore BABYMETAL because they introduced me to the Metal genre. I appreciate Metal even more because of them. BABYMETAL is everything great about Metal fused with absolute energy and talent of both SU-METAL and MOA-METAL. I would recommend reacting to Road of Resistance Live from Japan or Headbangeeeeerrrrr! LEGEND 1997 from them.

👑 🗡 I was never super into Bring Me the Horozon, but I really liked the whole 'POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR' album this is from. There's a little bit of BABYMETAL in the preceding song, 'Itch For The Cure (When Will We Be Free?)'. The final track, 'One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death' features Amy Lee from Evanescence. Also worth checking out. And what a great song title. There are a few Metal elitists that really dislike BMTH and BABYMETAL. The haters can just go ahead and be mad at both groups simultaneously, which probably saves time. : ) This was probably the best collaboration of 2020. Yes, you need to check out some Babymetal. And you were somewhat right that they were the ones who brought the heavy for this track - Oli of BMTH said in an interview that having the 'softer' vocals of Babymetal in there let them feel like they could go heavier than they normally do these days, though BMTH also started out as a deathcore band so this song is somewhat going back to their roots too. For BM, best entry point imo is Headbanger live at Legend 1997. Enjoy!

Good reaction, thanks! BMTH and BABYMETAL know each other since they met in a music festival like six years ago. As a BABYMETAL fan I'm pretty happy on how this collaboration came out. It was created during the first lock-down in 2020 being both teams in the opposite part of the world. Oliver Sykes from BMTH asked specifically to have some parts in Japanese... which is so cool. BABYMETAL parts here are performed by Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto), BABYMETAL's lead singer. If you are curious about them (and I believe you are) this can be a good approach to BABYMETAL: "Headbanger" (Live at Legend 1997): kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3bWgJSDl7N5rdk Until next time!

I wouldn't say it's not the true essence of Babymetal. It's a very Babymetal song and it's an absolute banger if you hear it live in person. You're right though, I wouldn't recommend the official video early on either. Unless I know they like really weird stuff. Lol

Great reaction! Bring Me the Horizon is a great band with such a diverse sound throughout the years and Babymetal ... wow, what can I say about them, they're once in a lifetime phenomena, glad you caught wind of them - would be a shame to miss out on Babymetal. Their uniqueness can be polarizing for many, but they are a fun band who gave it their all in every performance. Are they big in the west? Maybe you can check their first live performance in the west - at a metal festival in the UK of all places - and see how the metalheads react :) Sonisphere 2014, Babymetal is already in their 4th years at this time - backed by the awesome Kami band, enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKCQkJaYm8mlj6c and this is pretty cool video of what the people who were there thought of Babymetal :p kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3amk4KOnpx1pZI

6:55 the recent releases of BMTH before this album were mostly not as hard-hitting as Kingslayer. If you're shown pictures of the Babymetal ladies, there is no way you'd conclude that it was them girls (and their production team) that dragged BMTH back to genuine heavy metal sound. With Babymetal, looks will be very deceiving. And expect the unexpected, WTF have I just watched reaction. One thing for sure, your minds will be blown away. And you will probably have a silly smile across your face afterwards.

Wow, that is cool. Good to see someone our age who knows modern music and not stuck in the 70s and 80s like most of us. Lol. That is cool. I am going to react to baby metal. Cannot wait to see what it is.

@@oldguyreactions there's alot to react to Babymetal since they start very young. I'd advise to start with Rondo of Nightmare. kzbin.info/www/bejne/boildZyCgrONmac

From the Babymetal Reactor Resource kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2WTh6CKfbibasU Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks. I've made a spreadsheet - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZYdthVAHYaOAYL6AuhVOHotQinMoPPFEuspqDMIIGD4/edit#gid=0 with links to both the logo videos and the non logo videos and are hosing them on a Russian social media site that won't remove them, and is out of the reach of the copyright trolls. There are a bit over 30 videos on there now, but I'll keep uploading more every day until they're all back up. I'll also be adding new videos that I'll test on an alt KZbin account before adding to the spreadsheet. If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non logo videos and the videos with logos: No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874 With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602 For reactors that want to put your own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVfJGp36xR2n1FHl7PzRIxXhA5P4VyW/viewor you can use whatever logo you'd like. You can download the videos, which I recommend since the site can be a bit laggy sometimes, from this free website - sovid.net/ I recommend using the "HD" option when downloading to keep the file size reasonably small. Although there are other videos on my channel there, only use the ones on the spreadsheet because some of the other non logo videos aren't KZbin safe. Kitsunes UP!

Bring me the horizon started off as a deathcore band then went on to metal and after that transition into metalcore then later transitioned into rock/pop rock then later transitioned into pop and now with their new EP they’re metal again but have electronic and pop elements to their new metal sound

Babymetal is a Japanese Band. and the "Girl" is Su-Metal (the lead singer of Babymetal). One of the cutest and best singing female voices i have ever heard! This song is a great mixture. Wow!!!

Ohhhh, you're in for a ride if you decide to react to Babymetal. They are addictive and loads of fun. And once you react to Babymetal, you'll get tons of recommendations of phenomenal Japanese all girl bands that are kicking ass currently, like Band-Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites, and countless others. This will be fun to watch if you continue your journey into Babymetal.
