No "True Metalhead" would ever say Babymetal isn't metal. why? becayse that's what gatekeepers say. True Metalheads (much like True Punks) don't have time for that. if they like something, great. if they don't, whatever. if it makes someone else happy, that's all that matters. that elitist attitude sucks! whatever you like (so long as you ain't hurting anybody) is cool. do your own thing!

👑 🗡 'Kingslayer' (featuring BABYMETAL) was the standout song from Bring Me the Horizon's 2020 album 'POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR'. There's also a great collaboration on this album with Amy Lee of Evanescence called "One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death". The whole album is pretty great.

Babymetal and BMTH have been friends for a long time. When Babymetal went to the UK in 2014 for their first tour outside Asia, they were scheduled to play Sonisphere as their first real metal festival, and BMTH, who were also on the bill, made sure to make them feel welcome at the event. Since then, they have supported each other on several tours in Europe and Japan, as well as this collaboration. This song was made during the pandemic, so they didn't get to make a music video for it or play it live up until now. A fun bit of trivia is that Kingslayer was produced by Mick Gordon (creator of the Doom soundtracks), so this song is a collab between BMTH, Babymetal, and Mick Gordon!

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。They performed REAL "Kingslayer" together 4 times in Japan. I witnessed the 2nd REAL one in Nagoya on Nov.1. That was mesmerizing 😍. In an interview Momometal made an interesting comment like : (1) The theme of this choreo is "collision of souls" that has an image like we throw the power multiplied by the two bands at the audience. (2) We danced with our full power and rigid determination thinking "We do not care no matter what happens to us after the performance" The one thing worried me was the statement at the end of this song in the final show in Tokyo on Nov.4. After joyful hugs with the girls, Oli said "We are never gonna play Kingslayer without them, ever again. Just not right." I know BABYMETAL and BMTH are going to appear in the same festivals next year in USA and Europe. I look forward to seeing them preform Kingslayer together again on those occasions. But BMTH should perform this amazing and popular song even in a virtual mode without BM being actually there. (ps. I found BMTH played the "virtual" Kingslayer in the concert in Bangkok, Thai on Nov. 7 after Japan. That's good 👍)

When Babymetal first started touring in Europe and the US they were really just kids and BMTH was the youngest (in age) band they would run into at festivals and they became friends/have a connection since those early days... which started in 2015, maybe already in 2014. So a collab was something they always wanted to do, in 2020 they made a song together as part of the BMTH album of that year. It's actually one of the most popular songs of that album. BMTH has performed this song live without live Babymetal since 2021 and fans having been hoping they would perform it live together some day. So it's been long coming...

Welcome back, it's been a while, hope to see you around with more BM songs, especially next week since SuMetal (the lead singer) is celebrating her birthday. This was the best 2020 collab between this two great bands and last month we finally got this collab on the stage together after so much time waiting for it. BMTH performed at Southside Festival in Germany and Hellfest Festival, there's a nice proshot version but with only BabyMetal backing track vocals, luckily now we got this amazing clip showing them sharing the same stage at Makuhari Messe during a festival called "NEX_FEST", and they did it not only once but four times in a row, everyone went bonkers with these, you can also find fancams of each night showing some different interactions at the end between Oli and the girls, SuMetal thanked to BMTH in all of them, that's the only thing i can complain about this clip but it's cool anyway. BMTH couldn't have better collab on their latest album Post Human Survival Horror, there are some others really good songs there thou but this one is just on another level. My suggestions are: "Parasite Eve" and "Teardrops", also "Ludens" from Death Stranding OST videogame. This song was produced by Mick Gordon, the same behind videogames like Doom, Wolfenstein and Prey, so you can feel the vibes here. They're friends since a very long time ago so the collab was almost naturally unavoidable. They even performed as a support band for BabyMetal and Oli praise the Fox God too (atheist, dame, zettai)🦊🤘 The instrumental intro on this song is called "Itch For The Cure" which is clearly a tribute to Linkin Park song "Cure For The Itch", but the short animation and dialogue wasn't part of the album track, it's a reference to Metal Gear Solid videogame created by Hideo Kojima, they got another MGS tribute song called "Shadow Moses" and later in 2019 they were part of Death Stranding OST, another Hideo Kojima game. Also you can find a short documentary about the making of this song where Oli said interesting things about the method they worked with the BM team and giving multiple choice of doing this. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🤘🔥

Good reaction. This collaboration was on the cards for a long time, BMTH and BABYMETAL have been good friends for several years and had often spoken about wanting to do something together (BMTH did open for BABYMETAL in Japan in 2019 too). BABYMETAL may not be a band you might listen to on Spotify, that's fair enough, but I do think we could get you interested in seeing them live. You've only reacted to two of their songs so far (both very different from each other). I will suggest one more song - and a specific performance - that might get you to see them in another light. It will be Su-metal's 26th birthday on Wednesday ... have a look to see how she celebrated her 16th birthday 10 years ago in 2013. The song is 'BABYMETAL Death' the specific performance is the live at Legend 1997. I hope you give it a try.

Some of the gnarliest, face melting shit you'll ever hear. Try these bands and recommended song: Hanabie - Tousou. Nemophila - Oiran. Band-Maid - Domination (live). Lovebites - Hammer of Wrath Maximum The Hormone - Yoshu Fukushu. It's time to explore Japan! You won't regret it.

You should check you Hanabie. - We love Sweets , If you haven't already they are fire, Japanese metal is insanely good. I think maybe you get the anime vibe's, because anime is Japanese and so is BABYMETAL. I will just say Japan is not afraid to flip you on your head. They have some of the wildest music and have an edge American metal doesn't have.

I had been a Babymetal fan for quite a long time. prior to this song's original release, i don't recall ever hearing a BMTH song. I admit for a long time i held that arrogant little kid view that because of how they looked, they probably sucked. (clearly i was wrong on that). but i also grew up & let go of that snobby crap. it was weighing me down. while i admit that i wouldn't yet call myself a "fan" of BMTH, i have enjoyed the few songs i've heard. that judgmental place is a bad spot to stay in. to allow your mind to be in. as i've gotten older, i've learned to be more open to things. sometimes they don't stick & i just say "hey, that's not for me. if you like it, awesome". Ive also been quite pleasantly surprised by some of the things i've been open to. a whole new world of music opened up in so many different genres. just because i gave it a chance. I think that is why this collaboration really resonated. it was 2 worlds colliding in a way i wasn't expecting & it really worked out great. I hope that fans of either band (& fans of anything) would have the open mindedness this collaboration pushes. cross-genre/cultural artistic experimentation. i'd love to see more things like this. 10 outta 10 song for me!

My friend got his nose broken at a Pushing On/Down to Nothing/Bracewar hardcore show in VB because we were standing on the edge of the pit and he was too manly to move when someone came by opening it up more. He was like "did he hit you too?" and I was like "nah bro I moved tf out of the way..." He was like "I didn't think he would actually hit me" and I said "...what about his movement pattern gave you that impression?" Then the four of us went to this house that this girl I knew from college was housesitting and we got drunk with her friends and he woke up on the floor of the dining room on a white carpet amidst a pool of blood. We hastily made our exit ASAP.

Hello Slashley, very fun reaction! This video/song is indeed very hype! I will say and this is no criticism or whatever but, I know people often say that for their favorite bands all the time but it's nowhere near as true as when it comes to BABYMETAL. They have over 60 songs and their whole schtick is to explore all and every sub-genre of metal and mix it up with all and every other genre of music they can possibly think of. So I think it's not really relevant to say that their genre is not to your liking until you've atleast listened to half of their discography - and even then you have a high chance of missing out on gems for your personal taste. I have a couple friends who had the same thoughts after having listened to only a handful of songs but at some point when I found out what their tastes lean more towards and started sending them different songs they started to thank me for making them listen to more songs and they have since each incorporated some BM songs into their spotify playlists and have been thankful to me for it. They may not be as much fans as I am and never will be, but they do have songs from them that they listen on repeat and are more than happy to give BABYMETAL more chances when it comes to new songs of them because you can absolutely hate some of their songs and love others because of this wide variety of genre coverage that they have. I just don't think it's fair to say that their genre is not to one's liking (especially after just a few listens) because I've quite frankly never heard a band that has such a wide range of genres covered.

It might just be the smug attitude that makes some people "come at" you. That's the only thing that could kind of make sense as a reason. Because, your take on the music and how not every band is for everyone, is completely reasonable. So I couldn't see anyone getting too torn up about that. But, there are definitely moments where you come off as smug. I donno if you know that already. *lol* 🤷🏻‍♂It doesn't bother me any. I'm just sayin what I see. No offence. 😅

@@SlashleySlays It's just that the comparison is made all the time for every Babymetal song, no matter what type of song it is. It gets tiresome after a while. It's not like you said something wrong, it's just, oh god here we go again with the anime ... I mean, the only reason you even thought of anime is because Babymetal was involved. that would have never crossed your mind if Babymetal were replaced by any non-Japanese group. Again, I'm not meaning to jump down your throat about it. I suppose its a pretty easy knee jerk reaction and I don't take it as a bad thing. I'm just trying to explain why it's annoying to some of us. Great reaction btw! I love the respect you show in understanding we all like what we like. Great song but honestly the only good song that BMTH has and only because Babymetal are collaberating .

They overcooked the autotune so much on this performance. You can hear their vocals quivering between notes all over the place, which is a real shame.

Not sure what you were hearing but there was no autotune used on the live audio. How do I know? Because there were a few notes ever so slightly off pitch. Which also means they did not do much (if anything) for pitch correction in post-production.

@@johnschultz7765 Perhaps it's just me, but all I can hear is rapidly changing pitches like you get when autotune is cranked right up. So she's singing very close to pitch but not quite perfect and it's switching between the two closest notes really quickly.

@@Fez135 in order for that to happen one would have to be precisely halfway between two notes, and I doubt that any pro autotune algorithms would actually get confused enough to not just pick a note and lock on. Especially in this performance where Su- is not using much vibrato (and hers is pretty narrow to begin with) which only theoretically might confuse an algorithm. I don't hear any FX being used on the live audio either (Oli is singing/growling along with the original studio audio in a few places). Not even a fix-up for the bit where Su- ran short of air and had to constrain her timbre to squeeze out a couple notes. I don't hear any artifacts that would indicate any kind of pitch correction much less full on autotune.

@@johnschultz7765 Then I must be hearing something that you're not. All I can hear is a borderline irritating fluttering on her voice every time she sings. Perhaps I need to see somebody about that 😂
