worth checking out the Hyatt Regency Kyoto, think you would enjoy the property more than the Tokyo location. more tranquil & beautiful cafe views of courtyard. if you do stay there, do watch out for the weird step in the bathrooms

YES!!! I went there like 3 or 4 years ago and I remember how nice and peaceful the property was. It was even close to Christmas time but it was still beautiful and calm. I don't know if it's Tokyo that has become little too crazy or it's me who is getting old lol Thanks for watching!

Do you happen to know if other rooms are renovated? Reviews in TripAdvisor scared me.

Probably not. I believe other than my room (club access) and suite rooms are upgraded.
