Monica L. Gamiño you grew up in the perfect era actually... you can manage to find beautiful music like this without having to go look for it at record store or none of that... you also don’t have to pay for it to download it or listen to it (which maybe thats why the music industry is going downhill)

I'm 60, grew up in Bed-Stuy and now live in the heartland. I play these types of songs on my pirate station and have so many early 20's people listening in a nearby town. Regular radio has no soul. I remember listening to these on WWRL (1600 AM) out of Queens and WLIB (1090 AM) out of Harlem. Yeah, I'm white and old, but the memories of the city and the echos of these fine tunes bouncing off the walls of the tenements was it!. We had it all. Glad that you, metalfacevillaaiinn enjoy it as much as those who really appreciate it.
@juancastro54228 жыл бұрын
I'm 58 and grew up in the South Bronx, now out of Cali and KZbin is where I catch these sounds and reminisce. Neighbors down stairs when I was a kid would start spinning these tunes Friday til Sunday morning. Glad that the young are in tune with these tunes. To Metalface you were born at the right time keep spinning the music it is timeless.

OG in my neighborhood would bump this jam in his Chevy Belair lowrider back in the early 90’s . He would have his Bomba in the driveway and these fine tunes coming out the garage as he washed his ride and got it ready to hit the avenues. Fell even more in love to with the lowrider lifestyle and oldie jams. I’m 38 now and do the same now. Lowrider in the driveway parked up getting it clean to hit the streets with these oldie but goodie jams coming out my garage. I’m an old soul born in the wrong times.

HOLY SH*T! Is this the same Brief Encounter who sung "Human" from 1977? That falsetto is amazing! His voice is up there with Smokey Robinson, Billy Griffin and Michael Washington ("Cupid's Corner"). And the slow pacing of this song is out of this world. Sublime. I'm always amazed at what I find at 3 in the morning. I have to make a decision: go to sleep now or stay awake and find more soul treasures... Luckily, today is Sunday and not a work day for me. LOL
