Bill Mummy was involved with a band and wrote for Marvel and was in at least one other television show after Lost in Space. It is said his comic book collection dates back to at least the 1950s and is out of this world!

Yes. All the cast were an excellent set-up of good actors. However, Jonathan Harris was a truly outstanding Shakesperean actor -- he was a professional theatrical actor in nyc. Irwin Allen was also a formidable arts manager, set director and executive. Brasil Brasil

I met Harris when my uncle's architectural firm was contracted by him to build an addition on his CA home. The job took two months, and I worked on the project over a summer. Harris was only there for about two weeks during the construction, but I had the opportunity to talk briefly with him on several occasions. Very cordial, down-to-earth guy, and when the job was completed, he took the entire crew out for dinner. Greatt experience. I didn't know until then what a long career he's had.

And did you know that June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen and Angela Cartwright were in the 1998 Lost in Space movie?? Billy Mummy and Jonathan Harris were also suppose to be in it but Jonathan Harris said he doesn't do cameo appearances and Billy Mummy, who was supposed to play the adult Will Robinson in the movie, didn't get the part at the last minute, which, in my opinion, was a BIG mistake. The voice of the robot was none other than Dick Tufeld, who did the ORIGINAL voice of the robot on the original lost in space.

Star Trek was for the serious viewer. And in turn took itself to seriously. Kirk was a terrible actor. Lost in Space predated Star Trek by a year. It's first season was seriously written with a compassion to it. Seasons 2 and 3 were basically a Dr Smith tour de force. Camp and didn't take itself at all too seriously. I agree with you . So very funny and so true to the original series. 81 year old Jonathan Harris turns in a great performance, but notice how he was holding his right hand most of the time. He would leave this world in 2002 at age 87. Bob May (the guy inside robot B9) passed in 2009 and Dick Tufeld was silenced in 2012. :(

This was Jonathan Harris' last portrayal of Dr. Zachary Smith. Sadly, he passed away just before they were to start a TV reunion movie for Lost In Space. Producer Kevin Burns did an excellant job capturing the essance of the original show here! Bill Mumy, Bob May, and Dick Tufeld's voice were great too. Its pretty amazing to note that Dick not only came back all those years later to guest star in these late 90's segments as the classic robot for these tribute specials (as well as a couple of episodes of The Simpsons as well) but he also did the voice for the Robot in the remake which was made the same year as this clip was (1998). He and the other guest stars from the series who had cameos were the only good things about the awful remake..

LOL. I just found this after it was posted nine years ago. RIP Jonathan Harris. It was a real coup that they cast him in this series. The role was so beneath him yet he really made it his own and his character was such a central part of the show. As others pointed out, he was in top form here even though he was 84 years old (and, sadly, died four years later.) I'm pretty sure that's Dick Tufeld doing the robot's voice and not Bob May.

I was a little child when that was emitted here in Yugoslavia, but never missed any episode... I love it. Warning, warning, danger, danger, Will Robinson...

This amazing. Jonathan Harris can still fall into his role brilliantly. Many stars are not able to do that after a few years. I met Jonathan Harris and the rest of the cast except for Guy Williams, of course. I shook Jonathan and Bill Mumy's hand, Jonathan was very nice, and so was Bill. Mikie D
