You both are so funny. I finally saved and bought a small 12 egg incubator. This is my first time and waiting the 21 days is hard. Out of 12 eggs 3 are lockdown for hatching. Frustrating, our rooster is very passive with the girls. I would love to see what kinds of chicks you ended up with.

I currently have eggs under a young broody hen, an Australorp. She was hen hatched from fertile eggs from a farm that is rather far off. I have Trader Joe's Fertile eggs under her. Not the type you used, I am hoping for the best. It's a 3 hour round trip and that's alot of gas to burn. I'll let you know.

can you do this without an incubator?
@OldReddingFarm10 ай бұрын
You can hatch eggs either with an incubator or if you have a hen who is broody.

wait a minute, I can´t follow, are those eggs you bougth eggs that are sold for eating or specificly for breeding. I was under the impression that eggs for eating are "non seminated" eggs, so no roosters with hens, am I wrong there? So where you trying to incubate egg from supermarkets??? those would never hatch...... would they? like the videos, not a dis, just a real question lots of greetings from Switserland

there are actually lots of people who say they hatch eggs from Trader Joes and Whole Foods eggs, so we were testing it out.
