Vlad is legit, and what is amazing, his first instrument is piano. I have come to realize, Jinjer is the new Rush...masters of their trades, with progressive time signatures and arrangements, socially conscientious lyrics, and genre blending, just with a more metal edge

Great reaction! He's a multi instrumentalist. He also plays guitar & there's an amazing video on youtube of him playing classical piano on youtube.

He’s actually a classical and jazz trained guitarist and pianist. He just decided to take up drums one day. There is also video of him floating around playing guitar. He said his preference for open hand playing and a flat kit setup is due to his comfort with piano.

In my unprofessional Judgement I have to say that Vlad is one of the most precise drummers out there. Even in their Live videos ive never noticed a point where he either missed a note or was not in sync with the rest of the band.
@Module79L4 жыл бұрын
It's usually the rest of the band that's in sync with him, since he's the one who has the click track playing in his in ear monitors. ; )

He's a pianist. The waist level of his drum set up reminds me of the way a piano would sit.
@barefootalien4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! After watching him play the Rach C# Minor (such a fun song to play, but such precision needed for those interweaving chords), I'm hardly surprised that he doesn't need that much room. It seems like he kind of lays his drum kit out like a piano keyboard, with the drums and hi-hat like the white keys and the other cymbals like the black keys, woven together nice and close so he has tons of agility.

Jinjer группа, в которой четыре солиста! То, что они делают, просто шикарно. Это никогда не будет массовым продуктом, но в то же время никогда и не затеряется среди подобных. Если ты это действительно Слышишь, то получаешь настоящие эмоции!

Lol great reaction, truthfully love it because it brings attention to a little known Jinjer song. There are no bad Jinjer songs. Buy the whole album no fillers. Best band on the planet.

The most impressive part to me is the fact he can stay focused enough for them off timed snare hits with Tatiana going nuts in the background

I played drums for 12 years the only 14" is his Hi-hat, the 2 cymbals above the hi-hat look to be 19" or 20" the Oriental to the back left side of the hi-hat is 18" most Rides are 20" and the other two cymbals above the floor toms could be 16" - 18" but I am just guessing here

As mentioned Vlad is a classically trained musician. The name of university escapes me now, in my opinion, he's *The Best* metal drummer currently. Completely owned his kit.

Man, you missed opportunity for double reaction on Vlad. He finished music school for classical piano, and then switched to playing drums. He also posted a video of him playing Rahmaniov piano concert right before this video. I think seeing him playing classical piece like that, after playing the drums explain lots about his musical geniality and genuinty! Sorry for my bad English it is not ma native language, keep up the good work OSN.

The jazz comment is right on the money. The bar to be taken seriously in jazz is much higher than in rock (and I say that as a rock fan). Vlad can clearly drum circles around most rock drummers. He doesn't need to hide behind a huge jungle of gear. I'd be very curious to see him do a whole jazz set.

He makes it look almost effortless, but a couple hundred shows a year will definitely help dial in the muscle memory to make it look easier than it is. But he is a beast live and bro is usually sweating buckets. They are all so tight live, and definitely worth seeing if you get the chance.👍🤘

The Pisces video was actually made to showcase him. He was the new drummer at the time, the studio version of the song with the old drummer is different.

I wish the ride 'bells' were mic'd better for this, as those hits after Tatiana sings "Under this dome of ignorance" in the chorus really do it for me on the studio version.

2:20 I'd say you NEVER see it in Metal, period. One thing I noticed is that his snare is huge! It's almost the same diameter of the big floor tom. Fun Fact 1: you might not know this but this isn't Vlad's work, it was created by the previous drummer, Dmitriy Kim, since this song is from the King of Everything album. Fun Fact 2: Yes, the same Dmitriy Kim who is credited at the end for mixing the audio on this video. : )

They've been playing this song live with Vlad since 2016. One thing I don't particularly like about Vlad's interpretation is it doesn't use the ride bell as much or at least its not as prevalent in this recording as it is on the album. That ride bell on the album is fire.
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
also, since this is one of their less well-known songs, I doubt they have played it in concert since he joined. So I'm guessing he probably just learned it, either during lockdown to keep busy, or else specifically for this video.
@Module79L4 жыл бұрын
@@j.f.fisher5318 - Old Scratch is right. If you search for Under The Dome live you'll find two bootlegs from 2016, one from Bulgaria and one from the first time they played here in Portugal. And what's most astounding is that the two concerts have only 4 days between them. : )

Size generally = volume. Especially with heavier cymbals. They won't flex and move as much so more surface area to get volume. I have a variety of cymbals that I pair up to match whatever style of music I play.

Good reaction once again! Very cool to see someone pointing out that people like me would miss out about the sets and way they play! Really amazing song too! But I have to say, I really hate how the video was shot. All that moving with the camera was really distracting me from everything else.
