Who is the greatest is always a subjective thing. I am 54 years old and have heard all the great vocalists, vocals are my thing. She is perfection to me, and to my ear, the greatest of all times. I love Ann Wilson, but to me, none are Floor.

This song is perfect for her. Listening to her gives me the SAME sensations as watching Thunderstorms. Awestruck as the sheer power but simultaneously peacefully uplifted. She is the only voice that does this.

I love your presentation style. You honor all the other great singers as well which is absolutely correct. There are a lot of good singers out there. There are a selective group of exceptional singers out there. They all should be credited for their talents. But in my not so humble opinion there is only one vocalist soaring above all of those other talented people. It is lonely at the top. There is only one Floor. Why? Because of the combination of voice quality and control in all aspects of singing, the fact that she does everything perfect from opera through musical, pop, rock, symfonic metal to even growling.... She does it all. And combines that with perfect storytelling and projecting of tons of emotion. In combination with the right gestures, looks, moves and overall graceness. She does not only sing. She performs with immaculate attention to the smallest detail. That makes her an all time goddess. Words can not adequately describe her greatness. We are lucky to live in these times.

Great reaction, I think the most important instrument in a song of Floor Jansen is her voice, that is hypnotizing, I discovered her and Nightwish as well as Ayreon and some others through the reaction channels so my thanks to you , Tank the Tech miss Zharoff and many others, some of you have real knowledge about singing some about the music itself, many are just listener’s like myself and are surprised about the unknown music they see discovering and enjoying their new experience , you told about Ann Wilson hearing from 10 feet, I hope to have the same experience on the 3 of September with Floor when I visit her solo performance in a small place called Hertme, when everything goes well I will see Nightwish also in Amsterdam and 2 weeks later in Hamburg, so I there’s a lot to look forward, thanks again for this great reaction

I've been listening to music for over 50 years. Your list of great female sings is a good one. I think for me, the reason Floor is better than all of them is her ability to sing any genre, in just about any language, and still make my heart melt with just the tone of her voice. The amount of feeling that she puts into her performances, whether it's a one off for a TV show or for a year long concert tour is astounding. I don't think I've listened to ANY song that she's sung and not had my heart melt like an ice cube in a fire. Her ability to empathize with the songwriter/lyricist and find the emotions inside herself to make the song so completely hers is truly special, once in a lifetime, and I've been blessed to be able to witness it. The other singers you noted are all great, but few of them can cross genres and languages and STILL convey the emotions that Floor can.She is quite simply, in my mind, the best female singer I've ever heard.

Always love your honest reactions. Floor has been working towards getting real recognition as the record company she has signed to is an offshoot of Warner music. I really hope with all my heart the right ears the right mainstream media brings her in and let's her shine. As much as Floor originally trained in Opera/Classical music and a School of rock. I don't believe she realized what else she could do with her voice in other Genre's as she said in her own words doing the Beste Zangers show really opened her eyes to new things she could do. New music outside to the Norm.

Hi. Ann has a new album out with some covers and originals. Carrie Underwood Wynonna Judd they both have powerful voices. Ann has sang with Carrie, Wynonna and Kelly. I like Ann and I'm still surprised she is still going strong at 71.(Ann turns 72 on the 19).Ann says they are still in the planning process for the 50th Anniversary of Heart. Floor's Genre is just called FLOOR. Floor emotes her Empathy. Ann says she always sings in the original note. Floor turned 41 in February. Ann was on tour last year and still is now.

I agree totally. This is a generational voice and vocalist. She is one of the best in every aspect of the craft and so probably the best overall. From styling to technique the entire package is present in equal measure. But she is also uniquely her and recognizable in all she does. I'm just very happy she is starting to getting the success she has deserved.

Well, first three were popular in my teens, the second ones defined my youth aside queen, metallica, pavarotti and maiden, not complete list. i suggest one is missing in thgis Hall of Fame, that is Bette Midler. Evan as she never really get comfortabkle with their Germans Listeners, i adored her. Ann Willson, Adele, got my Regards and Respect, but as biased as an Human can be, they dont get over an Withney or Aretha . Floor did to me an Decade ago, what i never thought would happen again. You should absolutely check out Marcela Bovio. Her voice packs a punch and her technique is up there with Floor's. They've actually shared the stage on quite a few occasions. Floor herself said that "Marcela is an incredible vocalist and we could spend hours together talking about vocals and being nerds about it. She's also a beautiful person." I can quote that because it was her response to my own question that I paid $20usd to ask on her live stream when she was announcing Floorworld. I turned on screen record on my phone as soon as I posted the question because I wanted to see how she'd pronounce my last name. To date she's the only person I know of that's ever pronounced it correctly without being told how to pronounce it. I had the biggest stupid grin on my face and it made my entire week.
