My brother in upstate ny owned a Saturn gold, black vynil top 71 Cutlass back in the 80's. 350/th400.. Loved that car. This is beautiful.

Hi there, there is an error in the above video's introductory blurb. Oldsmobile first started building the Cutlass in 1964 as the top model of the F85 range of intermediate sized cars. The 442 package was also first available in 1964 with the brand new (for 1964) 330 cubic inch V8 engine. However, Oldsmobile first used the Cutlass name on a vehicle in 1963 which was a compact sized car available with the all alluminium small block (designed by Buick originally). Cheers

Actually the Intermediate size Cutlass A body started being sold in 1964, the 442 of that year having the new (at the time) 330 V8 engine.

I had a 72 with a 400 400 auto. Ram air,,,,that car would do 150mph no prob! Was colaborated by the cop that caught up the next town past saying I saw a brown blur at 150mph and if I could prove it you would be going to jail!

This is one nice 1972 old cutlass 442 with 455 in it I pretty sure I see this car at a showing not for sure I pretty sure it is a matching number car beautiful paint job I new a man it was black and very fast I offen heard him say it had no problem reaching speed over 150 hour .I never was for the convertible there were ok not like the hardtop beautiful car

I replaced Clover with a Dodge Charger R/T 1970, Sabre with a Olds Cutlass 442 1969 and Stallion with a Chevrolet Camaro SS 1969

1/4 mile times, 442 13.9 sec @ 103.2 mph, 928 14.0 sec @ 102 mph. Weight 442 3910 lb, 928 3450 lb. Price 442 $4520, 928 @ $50,000. Passengers 442 5, 928 2. Trunk space, looks, etc. The 928 could best the 442 on top end, how ever long it took the 928 to get there.

Well my crappy 400 would do 150mph! Almost stock! Stick that in your rice burner pipe! Oh yeah,,,that was a 72 cutlass s by the way and a had a 73 350 4dr that would do 135mph,,,,stock granny grocery getter with a 100k on the Odom!,,,,that was Oldsmobile by the way!
