MacMurray and Stanwyck sure knew how to read a script. This one had some of the snappiest dialogue of the forties. Miss Barbara's voice was so sensually seductive. Her voice has been driving crazy me for decades.😍

Lola was present when her dad refused to buy life insurance. Why didn’t she speak up right away when there was talk of Phyllis’ filing a claim on the payout? She could have said her dad had refused to buy such a policy and incriminated Walter Neff instantly as well! 😮
