Love it! My first car was an identical coloured 4cv which did many thousands of miles in the Outback here in Australia. I followed it up with a blue and white Dauphine with "Ferlec clutch (Electromagnetic: - gear lever but no clutch pedal)and then a yellow R8 Gordini. Saw 2 4cv's on a rally on Yorke Peninsula in South Australia last weekend! Brings back memories!

As a Renault-man myself, I enjoyed part one...and am looking forward to the next episode already. I think another 4CV is well saved, and gives honour to the great heritage of French motoring. At one point in the late '90's we had a 4CV in our showroom next to al the new cars....it gave such pleasure to "older" customers..... Some of them used to have a 4CV once, or someone they know had one.... The alterations to the car (when done like seen in this video) are (or will be) tasteful. Thanks for uploading! Kind regards from the Netherlands

My first car was a 57 4cv, we rebuilt the engine and it ran fine, it seemed like the rebuild made it a "Gordini" with 28 hp. I may be wrong. It always started easily, broke an axle, broke a throttle cable, the muffler disappeared one day, the radiator leaked and blew steam on the windshield through the defrosters, the steering would freeze up when it got cold out so you couldn't turn the wheel, electrics all worked fine, somehow got air in the brake line and smacked into the car ahead of me which crushed the boot latch into the spare tire and flattened it, a little work with a hammer and block knocked the front end straight and even the headlights came back into aim. Didn't hurt the other car at all. In cold weather the handcrank got it going easily. If you got a flat you could put the flat on the right front and drive it home, there wasn't enough weight there to push it down. I never owned a car that produced so many stories! Eventually sawed it in half and turned it into a snowplow.

Hi, the French version of 4CV have their fuel tank under the right rear seat, not in the boot. You have to fill it by opening the motor bonnet. I didn't know that. I've had one from 53, with the same color (954). great job. Stephane from France

granskare I don't take any credit for the work that's not mine. It is clearly stated in the description of the video when it is not in the video itself. Plus I don't say what I do but show what is done. And to finish each time someone mistakenly thinks that it is my work in the comment I make clear that it isn't.

Fantastic job, on building a nice sporty car, out of a rather bland, ugly grocery- getter..not a fan of this brand, but I, myself, would drive your creation, with pride!! Good job!!
