@@djozlaone I think we are just “lucky”. To my mind, we just happened to find a sweet spot in LG’s project development cycle. The CX was at the end of a 10 year cycle. The following C1 demarked the beginning of a new development cycle and since then there have been issues with some of LG’s newer technologies although they don’t seem to be yet in the C series rather its the G series? Meanwhile, the competition is fierce and fast moving year to year and its like playing roulette as to know how to get the best picture, performance and in particular - longevity - for your hard earned money. Makes my head spin as I watch reviews and follow technology trends. Unless you have purchased extended warranties it isn’t easy to swap tv’s out without having to spend - even more money. Quite frustrating / annoying / aggravating spending more - good money after bad! Often I think manufacturers could care less?!

An OLED doesn't look nearly as good as it did new after that many hours, you just can't tell or don't have a side by side comparison which is fine. My c1 after 4,000 hours looks dimmer and more washed out than it did new and I baby the panel

@@proggz39 Lg seems to go through teething issues as they progress up the development line from one generation to the next. A whole variety of problems plagued the previous series until they got to the 2020 - CX. Mine is going on 4 years old now and I am not seeing what you describe - yet. Did you purchase an extended warranty? I do routinely as I don’t trust what I might get in the “panel lottery”. So far, I consider myself - LUCKY! However, I know that could change at any moment. My thought is that LG might finally get all the issues worked in this current generation by the time they get to the next C-10 again?

It's definitely a form of burn in. It's not a static logo or anything, but it's the "uneven wear" of the pixels. It's in the middle because that is where most of the focus/action takes place in any movies and shows. It's one of the colors that has aged and hence the tint towards green instead. It's probably the blue OLED sub layer that has aged and it cannot produce the same light. AKA the uneven aging of the pixels. Burn in is actually a misnomer and just used colloquially for uneven aging of pixels.

My in-laws' LG OLED (B-series) had the same issue. It was the red pixels not functioning properly after a certain amount of time on the panel. Over time it affected all RGB pixels to some extent. Now the only pixel that functions properly is the white sub-pixel.

I bought a LG E6P and a B6 OLED”s in 2017. TV’s have 6,000 and 12,000 hours. Both screens are shot. Marks are noticeable all over screens, LG offered me 10% off my next LG purchase because my warranty is over. After spending $8,000 on 2 LG OLED TV’s, that were advertised to last over 60,000 -100,000 hours, there offer was not where fair. I most likely will not buy LG again.

Same issue which was noticed a few months ago. All skin tones are greenish now in the middle of the screen. Mine is a Bedroom TV so I don't think heat from fireplace plays a part in this particular issue. I would venture to say that his fireplace isn't in use. Nor do I think it's burn in. TVs are engineer to be 5 year products from what I understand. And think about it, extended warranties that are offered on them never go out beyond 5 years. I work a PT job for a major TV brand selling TVs in a major electronics retailer. I speak to folks every weekend who have TVs that have died after 3-4 years. This is why I have a hard time investing the money into an OLED. I say invest, but it really isn't an investment.

Incredibly timely video! I'll add to the chorus that I have the exact same issue. My E6 starting showing this a few months ago. First noticed it when watching The Simpsons: their yellow skin color made it jump out. I changed my PC's background to that color (Hex #f8db27, RGB (248,219,39)) and it revealed that not only was there "The Splotch" in the center of the screen, but some burn in where red was previously prominent. The MOST prominent was where the read KZbin logo sits on ther google tv interface. I hate to give up this TV (it was the last, best TV for 3D), but I can't unsee it, so it's gotta go. Waiting for you all to review the Samsung S95C 77" to determine if that's the route I want to go (also considering Hisense U8 or UX). Oh, and yes, this type of video is great! More please.

@@erinjonathan4273 The main reason for burn in is heat. And the heat accumulates in the center of the TV, that's why these blobs are around the center. It's where the panel electronics are behind it and the heat gets trapped. People who leave their TV on all day should go with an LED TV. Especially if you just leave slideshows on like the guy in the video. LG Oled burn is often caused by the T.Con board storing info , on many lg oleds if you display the picture scene installed it wont show and burn or issues, as the screen in most instances is fine, you cant just swap a t.con baord for a new one as they are pre-programmed with each screen, if you swap a t.con board it will just display the bad image in a different area, we bought a maching from LG to run a programme through the t.con and screen to remove screen storage issues but so far it hasnt been able to run as it should and LG wont support it anymore, we are a tv repair engineer co for a large insurance company and see these screen issues every day, shocking that tv manufacturers get away with this.

My 65 inch 4 year old Panasonic oled has just started doing the same thing. Absolutely gutted!!! Like your friend my mum has my old plasma and it's still going. Have e-mailed Panasonic NZ and was told to check for updates and do a reset then get a technician if they didn't work. Update and reset did nothing so going down the technician route. Interesting that your friends LG and my Panasonic both doing the same thing at about the same age! As I understand it the panels all come from LG. Maybe a bad batch?

We purchased the oled 65 in lg in march 2018. 3 years later we got the green vertical bar appear. I called both lg and Costco because we had purchased the warranty only for Costco to tell us this was not covered because it was “user fault”! After repeated calls to lg, they finally conceded to replace the panel but we had to pay for the service call and labor for installation. The service tech said he had replaced so many lg panels for this same reason. The panel gets very hot. You can feel it to the touch. The new one wasn’t as hot and it was a smaller heat source. Now it’s been 3 years and we are getting the green bar back again! It’s not from static images but it is because the tv is on all day because my music comes from this source and we have several different screen savers. I’ll be reaching back out to lg this week. It’s a definite default and lg knows about it.

This is one of the reasons I don't go with OLED. Sure with a burn in warranty you can have it replaced. But why pay extra and why bother. New MiniLEDs are far brighter and do not have these issues. Nor any stupid ASBL that constantly dims. In a lit living room I can almost guarantee you cannot tell the difference in black level to an OLED, but it's brighter, also no haloing.

Ur Quiz does not look like the A80K as recommended for me when I already bought the A80K, what was recommended was the Sony X95k 75". I bought it on Dec 27th, 2022 along with the HT-A5000 sound bar and rear speakers I am having issues with the sound off and on. Best Buy installed and Set it up, and with the extra headset, I got they plugged it into the center speaker plugs in the back of the TV where the plug is designed for the center speaker for the HT-5000. Well, each time when I switch to the center speaker to use my headset it has issues when I go back to the Audio system setting. the first time it did not stick to the audio system. 2nd time I used it now it seems to split up where my TV remote cannot turn the volume up or turn the TV off. Same thing with my Comcast TV remote. Always have to use the Sony remote to turn off the Soundbar and the TV remote to turn off the TV. Do you have any suggestions on what to do? I tried everything I could think of. Do you know of any others sharing sound issues?

I upgraded from the C7 this year to the a95k. I had this exact same issue with the yellows looking green. I interpreted this as uneven pixel wear and a form of burn in. It got unbearable. You guys raise an interesting point about a recall but no way LG would do that if they could get away without doing so and so far they have. I was disappointed in it only making it 4 years before I this issue cropped up. I was so glad to get the Sony. Hoping qdoled sidesteps these kinds of issues but I was surprised then they said the 2023 formulation was TWICE as durable as the first generation 2022 qdoleds. Anyway I really enjoyed the content. Good luck with the C10 and enjoy the superbowl fellas.

I tested this green hue on a yellow picture on both my 65 E7 and 77 C2, the C2 is less than 30 hours, and they both show this green hue on yellow. And no, I don't see significant burn in on the E7. I watch in Dolby vision dark or dark mode so it doesn't push too much brightness to the pixels, oled lighting is 50 or lower.
