Projectors are just a pain to find the perfect spot to put it where its not in the way- dont have to cut holes in my room anywhere etc.

the thing with projector contrast is that they get big enough to set your eye's black level basically, they end up perceivably better than measurements would suggest, way better than the usual IPS glowy crap we have on monitors, DLP pixels are kinda like CRT, so natural AA, and motion clarity is also very different, 120hz DLP is fantastic
@fepethepenguin8287Ай бұрын
Is this DLP like the old school DLP mirror chips? Or did this stand for Digital Laser Projector
@EspHackАй бұрын
@@fepethepenguin8287 DLP is the image source, laser is the light source, yeah its old tech but cool af, it does 240hz native and probably 3 times that because its one frame per primary color

3D Blu-ray is the killer feature of this projector, IMO. Now that TVs get over 100 inches the main advantage of projectors is that they still support stereoscopic films, which is pretty important since many home theater fans have more than 10 years' worth of 3D movies to watch lol

I have the 98”tcl qm8 it’s great but need a large 3D!!! So I gonna need one of those have the 65” LG oled 4k 3D is awesome but too small. I have 100s of 3D Blu-ray’s movies so this will help!! Thx

did you ue a grey ALR screen for ambient light use? maybe with a mat wihite scrren brightness would improve?
@RandomUnassignedYTHandleАй бұрын
Two daily screens at the moment. The C1 I've mentioned a few times before regarding my computers. (Yeah, I still sought that out even in 2024.) And a projector for TV. Managed to squeeze in a 120" screen for the latter, which I love. (Only at its best in the later hours though. Even with the blinds drawn, my projector is no match for the sun.) Love seeing a projector review here!

How did you have the screen mounted during this video? Is this the Valerion ALR screen that's part of the kickstarter offer?
@thedisplayguy2 ай бұрын
It can be mounted, but I just rested it against the wall.

@@thedisplayguy does the projector have to be placed below the level of the screen for the Valerion fresnel screen to work?

I assume it could be on the ceiling as well, but I’ll have to ask.

Great review. I pre-ordered a Valerion max. What screen would you pair it with. Sadly it won't be delivered until May.

Would this be suitable for a grading suite? I'm thinking color and contrast accuracy, calibration, DCP playback and Resolve?

How far is the projector from the screen to get 120 inches?

This is 1 chip DLP right? Better performance than 3 chip LCD projectors? I've used the epsons for a while and love them (but they need dark ass room)

damn you did a good job color correcting a recorded triple laser!😂

How do you think the base 1500 lumens Plus model would do? Does the EBL reduce the brightness?
@justinbeamon6624Ай бұрын
EBL does not reduce the brightness. It forces the laser to maximum brightness.

Best Budget ALR screen please
@PinchOfLuckАй бұрын
Your personal problem is that you are trying to compare it with TVs and god forbit OLEDs. It also GREATLY !!!!!! depends on what kind of ALR screen you have. Valerion sent you heir own, which is a budget version.

This is a rebranded Hisense C2, and for whatever reason the shell is the same as the Hisense C1. Someone must have got their hands on a bunch of overstock parts.
@ag578glaup52 ай бұрын
Look at the hookup video, he compares the c2 and the valerion pro side by side. There's no contest on which is the winner. Hardware base is the same as C2 but supperior software and dynamic contrast algorythm takes the win. And it also does have a terrific dynamic tone mapping system.
