I’ve always had Usyk win by TKO against Wilder. Wilder’s defense is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Usyk even said that out of the Big 3 (Fury, AJ and Wilder), Wilder would be the easiest. I see no reasons to disagree. Slow, old and unathletic Luis Ortiz from the southpaw stance gave him fits. Now imagine a better volume puncher, with good power and accumulation from multiple angles while Wilder’s poor footwork has him moving like a spaghetti trying to get out of range. Would be Usyk’s easiest HW fight.

Usyk can punch really hard but he doesn't always use it probably due to his fighting style, which requires a lot of stamina and durability, throwing a lot of power punches has diminishing returns on the stamina, thats why Usyk prefers to use more of accumulated punches. But they knew Fury is a big guy, it would take a lot of such accumulated punches to actually weigh him down so the best option was viscous power punches, dangerous counter punches, and thats what he did. Wilder has one of the worst chins in the game, if Usyk landed such 1/2 on him, he'd get KOd in no time.

I agree. I commented earlier that Usyk looked strong before the fight. I also noticed that with some of his hardest overhand left hooks he's not even looking at Fury because he's already launched himself forwards. Yet still he finds the target.

If referee Mark Nelson wasn't hovering, bouncing in and out, and disrupting Usyk's flow in the 9th, Usyk scores the KO. With nearly all referees that's a KO. Usyk was ready to unload the Bellew shot when Nelson grabbed him. David Haye pointed out Fury was a wide open target. Usyk is more attuned to referees than most, having nearly 400 total fights. In pro Boxing there're 4 scoring criteria: 1 clean effective punches landed... 2 defense... 3 effective aggressiveness... 4 ring generalship. Usyk swept them -- and some cold clowns still wanted to give it to Fury.

Absolutely Kurt and thanks for making me feel less crazy because I been saying Usyk punches harder than Fury, and the only people Usyk didn’t finish in the CW’s like Briedis as we’ve saw still refuse to get finished, like he was battled tested in the greatest CW era of all time. Not only that but you have even posted the video of Usyk training working on his punching power, like specific drills that add that torque and velocity to his shots, compared to Fury just lifting weights and shxt, Usyk is throwing 30 lb medicine balls ball at high speed with his left simulating the body mechanics of an overhand.

Usyk stops Wilder because he has no defense, Usyk would hit him at will from all angles, he will tire him out, and avoid the right hand which wilder telegraphs a lot, I don't think Usyk would get hit clean by that right hand.
@avp5964
@avp5964 19 күн бұрын
Usyk is strong but he hits hard because of his timing and accuracy. He has had many fights stopped or near stopped that people forget - Hunter, Witherspoon, Huck, Bellew, Joyce was basically done in WSB, Dubois. AJ in round 12 of the first fight if you want to be charitable.
@Byronic19134
@Byronic19134 25 күн бұрын
I also think we can agree in hindsight that Usyk was sick with a bad shoulder during Chisora fight like look at him during face offs he looks sick. If he wasn’t he likely finishes Chisora off the couple times he had him staggered bad. That would mean Usyk has a TKO in his first 2 HW fights. Then he fought AJ and nearly stopped him which is really hard to do and only Ruiz behind ear shot was able to do it. Then he stops Dubois and should have stopped Fury in round 9. So what I’m saying is that we could easily be talking about Usyk stopping 4 out of his 5 HW opponents that’s not far off from reality.

Don’t think he’s the biggest puncher out there but 14 ko’s in 22 fights suggests he’s not exactly pillow fisted , ironically I think had he been a bigger puncher he would’ve gotten fury out of there in the ninth . Also he’s a lot more durable than people give him credit for , got hit with some cracking uppercuts and bodywork and stayed on his feet , he drooped and knocked whyte out with a well timed uppercut a while ago and I seem to remember him dropping wilder with a body shot also . He’s a 15 and a half stone guy if he cracks you flush on the chin you are definitely going to feel it
