49:00 So a card can have only have one Seal, Edition and Enhancement at a time. Seals are obvious. Editions are the Holo, Poly and Foil (and negative, but that's only for Jokers). The Enhancements are the tarot modifications: Stone, Steel, Gold, Glass, Bonus, Multi and Wild.

I feel like drawing a Negative playing card should result in drawing an additional card that hand, as though you had a +1 hand size for that hand specifically. Feels like an interesting and worthwhile tradeoff for a rare condition that would also disallow foil, holo, or poly. I have no idea how you'd get a Negative playing card outside of a standard pack, but maybe that one Spectral card could give it to you. Or a new Joker could transform a played card, like Trading card, or something. "If last discard in a round is a single card, gives it Negative edition and returns it to your hand."

@@malcolmw121Or if you really want to go crazy, it could mean you can have 1 extra card per hand. Allowing that to create more illegal poker hands would be too much (since you’d technically be able to get up to 12 or so of a kind under the right circumstances and that would need a ridiculous number of planet cards). Instead, it could just be scored if it fits in (either fits in the straight, matches the flush, or matches the rank of the full house or 5 of a kind).

It's extremely easy to lose 3 out of 4 games, if not more, even if you're a "pro" of which there are maybe none BTW. However, speaking of pro Balatro, some of the NLSS had a Balatro tourney hosted by Apollo aka Dumbdog the other day, and it was super cool, I highly recommend.

at the end you were wondering if the x2 was better than the +mult from the Fortune Teller. The way you can tell is by looking at your total mult before the xMults start getting applied. So if you're adding more than twice the mult at the point fortune teller gets applied than its effectively greater than a x2 mult. The same goes for chips for that matter. If your hand makes 300 chips, but the bull add 300 chips, that's effectively the same as a x2 mult. Or, if it adds 150 chips, that would be the same as a x1.5 mult. I think at the time you sold the fortune teller it was slightly better, but by the end the x2 was better as you added planet cards and things like that.

I got my second win today, with the gold deck. I had the vampire and did a flush build but I managed to get the vampire joker to 6.4X mult. I also have to say balatro is not an easy game, you make it look really easy, I spent an hour trying to get a win with the black deck on red stake, and I kept losing early. But man even when you don't make the wisest decision you still end up winning, so congrats on being good at balatro

The black deck early game is just awful. I think even Tyler would struggle. I try to play greedy/max value; for the black deck my playstyle hurts me because I lose a lot early trying to save money for the future.

I agree with you, a lot of people only want to see optimal builds and don't consider that having some of the more silly builds might be more fun, even if you won't always get a win or reach insane heights in endless. The reason why I like rogue-likes is because I want to experiment with many different builds and try out all kinds of crazy strategies. But I guess some people like to suck out the fun out of everything and are only satiesfied if they can find the most optimal way to play a game.

Hey Olexa Just a heads up! When you order by suits it uses the same order as displayed when you hover over your deck. So it is easy at times to figure out what suit a card is even when it’s flipped just by the fact that if sometime is lower than the card next to it, and lower than the card to the right of it. (As long as there’s not a suit in between the order) you know it has to be the same suit as the one to the left. Hopefully my explanation didn’t make it more confusing, if you do it yourself it’s pretty easy once you know to look for it.

i mean, if you get a legendary joker Perkeo, that copies a random consumable, and buy cryptid spectral card using the ghost deck, and stack them a bunch of times on a steel card with red seal on it, you kind of reach a score the game can't handle and just gives you infinite after thinking about it for 10 minutes
