I like to think that Cecilia was the only honest person in Manny's side of the family who wasn't a sleazebag like him. At least she made an effort to try to be in George's life. She didn't want anything from him like money or a kidney

This is one of my favorite episodes of George Lopez because it gives me so much emotion and relief to find out that George's father has never been dead afterall like he always thought his whole life. He has missed out on knowing his father a lot sooner and was kept from building a relationship with his father all because of a lie that his mom told him.
@sailorsister2113 жыл бұрын
Benny didn't keep George from having a relationship with his father, maybe from his aunt but not his father. Manny was the one who kept George from having a relationship with his own father. The moment he walk out on Benny and George, never came back. Even if George thought Manny was dead but Manny knew George was still alive. George shouldn't have to locate his father. His father should have been there for him without George needed to track him down. Manny had money but never gave Benny a dime of child support. He never try to hire Lawyers, so he can at least to see his kid on the weekends and holidays or try to get full custody of him if he felt he wasn't safe with his mom. My dad was working a minimum wage job when he divorced his first wife and he still tried to get full custody of my brother bc he felt my brother wasn't safe with his first wife. When Manny died, his dying wish for George and Benny to not attend his funeral due to he had a reputation to protect. Doesn't sound like Manny wanted to have a relationship with his son. Benny was wrong to lie to George. She should have told him the truth, which was his dad abandon them.
@melissafellows1823 жыл бұрын
@@sailorsister211 Yes, you do have a point about Manny. He had all these years to find George and to build a relationship with him. The only reason they even reunited is because George came to HIM. George was lucky to run into his aunt to find out his father is alive or else he would've never met him.
@sailorsister2113 жыл бұрын
@@melissafellows182 to be honest, he was better off not meeting him, since Manny abandon him. George other brother turn out to be spoiled brat. Vic was more of father to George than Manny despite the fact he didn't like him at first. George almost gave him a kidney, even then he cared more about his reputation than his son even if the son he abandoned was willing to give him kidney to save his life. At the end George heart was broken again. Even when he met his father for the first time. He just gave him a list of excuses but never apologized. His comment pissed me off when he said you turned out okay. Benny should have just been honest, that his father just straight up walk out on them when he two. If Benny told the truth than George probably wouldn't have try to contacted him and would have saw from the beginning it his father wanted nothing to do with him in the first place and would have prevented him getting his heartbroken again.

I'm not defending it AT ALL. But as a child of divorce, I guess it's easier to say that your father died rather than "your father decided his own freedom was more important than you or me. He cares about his life than our lives." Benny was in the wrong completely...but I kinda get it. She was a SHIT mom. But at least she stuck around. More than I can say for A LOT of fathers I know.

I hate it when people comment “well Benny was a bad mother but at least she stuck around until some fathers”. Mothers do as much damage being emotionally abusive, belittling their children and talking trash about the father of their child as a father who was never there. Women don’t understand that when you bash or not tell a child who their father is your essentially disrespecting who that child is because half of his dna is his fathers. You are contributing to the feminist agenda which is belittling fathers and diminishing everything a man is. A lot of father walk out on their kids but that doesn’t mean that the mother was perfect. As I got older, even though it was wrong of my own father to walk out on me seeing how my mom is I could understand, not trying to justify his actions but we cannot act like people honestly plan to have babies these days a lot of people are just parents by accident. Walking out on your responsibilities is bad I agree but being a mean bitter hurtful mother does as much damage. Coming from experience even though I struggled from not having my dad in my life, it was my mom who hurt me the most.

@orlandoperez6754 жыл бұрын
@@scottt6267 it’s kinda of an agenda. I mean fathers try to get custody of kids but women win 90% of the time. Courts are biased in favor of women. Women can just tell the court that the fathers a deadbeat and they’ll believe them.
