I love my Cusinart, its a 11 cup and I have had it for over 20 years, I bought two of the 14 cup ones for gifts and can't swear they will last as long as mine. because they don't build things to last anymore. the 14 cup weighs about 18 pounds so maybe it would be a good idea to find a spot on top of your counter for it. My 11 cup is just big enough for my needs. enjoy.

Great video, Olga! I love to make berry sorbet using just frozen berries. (Thank you, Trader Joe and Nature's Promise!) The blackberry seeds will not chop well, and you could find them annoying, or you can ignore them and enjoy the flavor and nutrition. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and cherries don't have such a seed problem. For a different concoction, I will add varying amounts of plain or vanilla yogurt. Dropping in a handful of walnuts, pecans, or almonds is yummy. For an appropriate group of gourmets, I might add a couple teaspoons of a liquor such as Grand Marnier. Absolutely no additional sugar is needed in any of these variations. I have been able to put leftover sorbet/froyo in the freezer in a small Rubbermaid Brillance plastic storage container. Frozen leftover sorbet takes a short time of defrosting or perhaps another ride in the Cuisinart.

I agree that the Cuisinart is a versatile marvel, Olga. I have owned them since the earliest, and most long-lasting one made in Japan. Later versions had some avoidable problems. 1) The two different plastics, though both called "dishwasher safe" are prone to early failure for different reasons according to my scientist daughter. One deteriorates because of heat, the other because of strong dishwasher detergents. My bowl and lid distorted so that they were not operable. The S-blade white plastic core cracked so that it would not stay set on the motor stem. 2) The bowl can be marred by extremely dense contents at too high speeds. NEVERTHELESS, I have just bought a new 14-Cup Cuisinart. It is the best when it is in good shape. Advice to avoid disappointment and to have a long partnership: 1) DO NOT put it in the dishwasher! 2) Always clean off immediately in the sink with hot water and a soft microfiber cloth or sponge. Re-use, drain or towel dry and store, just as you do, Olga. This takes less time than placing it awkwardly in the dishwasher. I have been babying my new Cuisinart, and it has been like first love all over again.

When adding items to the chute, leave the machine turned on. When the pusher is removed the interlocking system will stop the motor, then add more items and when the pusher is in place (past the interlock), the motor will run again. Faster, easier! Spaceba!

Aha so for 20+ years I’ve used the shredder inefficiently. I only fed through the narrow chute to grate/shred, and never thought of laying a bundle then to just press thru the shredder disc. With pasta dough I would use a powerful KitchenAid Mixer to knead, but now I think it’s more efficient to use the Cuisinart food processor as pasta dough can be harder then a bread dough (or cookie dough).

Hello there! Do you have any tips for cleaning this food processor? I just got this exact model and washed it for the first time before use, but the narrow parts where the feeder tube presses into is still wet and nothing fits in there to dry.... do you just let it air dry? I'm afraid the springs inside there will rust if I leave it to air dry overtime.

We love potato pancakes and like the coarse grated and smooth batter versions combined, so you have the soft and creamy with abit of texture. One variation we make i learned from my Oma where you finely chop up any leftover proteins chicken/pork/beef even sausages, the batter is potato, onions, cabbage, eggs and flour. It was something she made during the great depression and ww2, what was cheap, available, potato/onion/cabbage used to make alittle meat go along way and fried in lard normally sometimes beef drippings. If she could not get eggs she would use applesauce or other fruit puree as a binding agent. If you have problems with gluten, you can use chickpea flour instead of wheat flour. This is ideal for indian flavours and spices, and can be adapted to make an onion bhaji type pancake/fritter if you want. Thanks for the video, instruction manuals with small poor pictures and clear as mud instruction are painful to understand sometimes. You video showed the what, where and how with a most versatile pancake recipe. Take care, God bless one and all.

Hi, Olga, my name is Lolita. I have a great tip for buying peanuts. I wanted natural peanut butter without salt or sugar added, and the only 1 pound of peanut butter I found was the Smucker’s brand. It is very good but expensive at $6.19 for a 1 pound jar. So I thought, would it be cheaper just to make my own. I was at one of the dollar stores, not dollar tree, but a privately owned dollar-like store. The lady sells dry roasted, no salt or sugar added peanuts in a plastic 1 pound jar. I bought one jar and put it into my Vita-mix, I did not know that I could use a food processor, will use that next time. Anyway it turned out exactly like yours and I kept in for about two weeks, it did not separate at all like you said. Oh I forgot, the jar of peanuts I bought cost $1.39. Sometimes I buy Aldi 1 pound jar of peanuts for $2.19. Either way, it is a whole lot cheaper than the already prepared jar of smuckers brand. I save a lot of money . Try one of your Dollar stores to see if they have the peanuts. It was fresh not stale. Sorry for the long comment

Instead of chopping first then putting things into the processor, why not just use the slicer function together with the blades?

Because you still have to cut them into smaller pieces just to get them through the shoot... Plus it makes for less clean up

How do you clean the food processor after onion smell? 🙇🏻♀️

It doesn’t absorb or retain any odor. Wash it like everything else, hot water and dish soap. After processing onions, I wash the food processor and I can go straight to processing strawberries and it’s perfectly fresh and odorless.
