Thank you! Yes, it is! Filling the spaces are similarly to kits with two layers of planks! And therefore it is necessary to do with kits where only one layer of planks.

Спасибо! Одинарная обшивка не столько сложная сколько медленная - так как приходится ждать каждый раз пока высохнет клей прежде чем уложить следующий ряд обшивки. И для однослойной - в идеале лучше заполнить полностью все шпации, тогда вообще все идеально получается как и при двуслойной...

clever choice to to let the video just run faster so that you can show more of the different stages of build you have to do. I like the way you did the aft part of the ship. I was planning to do the same with my build of the Occre Motanes but was n't sure it would work but now i see it wil work. In my build i also created extra support and your video clearly shows why it is wise to do this.

I have seen some of your videos where you nail through the planks and others (like this one) where you use the blocks to pin the boards into position, are some models double skinned and that's why you can nail through the boards

Thank you! I am very glad that you found useful information here! I clamp the boards for 12-24 hours, depending on how time allows me to work on the model. Usually I put a streak of planks in the morning and the next one in the evening and so continuously ...

Have you considered using steam to bend the planks, before putting the plank in contact with the hot solderer surface? It makes miracles...

I used to always boil the planks before planking. But later I got an oil heater - it saved a lot of time...

While binge-watching this series of videos, different ideas keep popping into my head, some I think good, some silly. A question about spring clamps though -- you use a wide range of sizes of the clamps. Is that for a specific reason or because that's what's available? ;) I know that companies like Micro-Mark have very small spring clamps for model makers that appear better sized for use in certain sections of your build, but are way too small for other sections (all in this one video!), so I just have to ask since they don't seem to cost very much, if memory serves. I wonder if they would be useful if I build a wood ship model? As for a silly idea that popped into my head while watching you hammer the brads(?) into the temporary clips to hold the wales while they dried, I though of both my small tack hammer, which I've _never_ used and both my largest Blacksmith & Machinist hammers which I _have_ used. Obviously the larger hammers would be _bad_ choices! ;) I am much a more of a Machinist than a woodworker, but "think" I have a reasonable understanding of what to do & not do (woodworking-wise) after >50 years of watching woodworking shows on TV and other media. I simply haven't done much, so I haven't gained the "muscle memory" (if that's the correct term) for using my woodworking tools, including a lack of practice at sharpening chisels, planes, etc. I also see myself, when building a wood model in the future, wanting to grab a micrometer or caliper to measure something to within a few thousandths of an inch (~0.08-mm) when _that_ is way beyond silly! ;D

All these clamps are a collection from everywhere and some of them were confiscated from the box of my husband's tools)))) Although of course not all of them are suitable for modeling...

In the kit, they offer to simply add another plank. So, I took double the thickness of the strips from the kit. If I'm not mistaken, they are 1.5 mm in the kit, so my wales are 3 mm thick...

Yes, on this model, all the planks are chamfered!

Hello Olha. What is your miniature table saw and what are it's cutting capacities? Do you like it? I'm looking for a quality miniature table saw that works well. Used to have a 4 inch Dremel and sold it. Now, I regret selling it as it worked so well and is no longer available. Used, they cost hundreds of dollars on Ebay for a good used one, if you can find one. Thanks, John

This is not a real ship, but only an interpretation of such carracks. This model is designed from engraving on a silver plate in the church. And there are no real drawings...
