Also if you're interested in more extreme style vocalists, I'd suggest checking out Ben Duerr from Shadow of Intent or Dickie Allan from Infant Annihilator. Definitely god-tier vocalists as far as the younger generation of metal is concerned. A reaction video of either of these dudes would be so cool to see

Trying to imagine Sir Dickle showing Beth how to do his zombie and goblin voice lol. It’d also be good to have a crossover episode with the Kardavox Academy guy - a lot of the vocal coaches on YT do reactions to extreme vocals without much knowledge about the techniques like throat tunnels, and he’s the best teacher on the platform for it.

I listen to Archspire every single day. I blast them out loud in my neighborhood. I love Human Mumuration, Calamus will Animate, Scream Feeding, A Dark Horizontal etc.. I've been a metalhead for over a decade and I found Archspire in 2018, they changed everything for me... I've been obsessed and unable to listen to anyother band really after finding them.

I actually really like the whole 'fast vocal' stuff aswell, it really fits the very techy and fast instrumentals of this genre. With other bands (in this genre) I'd often rather listen to the instrumentals, since they're a lot more appealing, but with Archspire I actually hear it for the vocals too, so good job on that! When I was younger, I heard a lot of Eminem, maybe thats where my fable for fast singing comes from... ^^

The slam version of Archspire would be Aberrant construct- Pt 2: Ferocity, and Toxic King. Aberrant construct's vocalist even covered a Archspire song. I love Archspire. I've been a metalhead for over a decade, but I found Archspire in 2018, now I can't really enjoy the bands I use to as much.. but yeuh you should check out Aberrant Construct- Pt 2: Ferocity, and Toxic King.

Been a fan of Beth's channel for several years already, though I do admit I somehow -- for some reason unknown to me -- did not subscribe until today. A hideous crime, given the quality of the content. Will reason my wife and friends into subscribing, too. Big thanks to Beth for the regular inclusions of heavy metal, be it extreme or not. This particular video deserves times more views though. And also I admit I'm biased, but I believe KZbin will be a better place when more awesome channels are hacked into casually reviewing extreme metal from time to time. The circle breathing thing. If you start with a lot of breath and vocal I've noticed you get a lot of back pressure quickly. And once you have back pressure the "blowing out" just kind of happens. As far as it feels to me. But the spitting water thing is great practice for mouth shape.

I think it’s a common thing for a lot of bands, just because you’re inspired by something, it won’t mean it will sound like what you are inspired by. Plenty of death and thrash metal bands love kiss to death and kiss is one of the main inspirations for what got them into music, but that doesn’t mean their music sounds like kiss. Same thing with oli, he liked the insanely fast singing of certain rap and thought it was impressive and took that into his death metal style, doesn’t mean it will sound like rap

Not only are they technically superior to most of the bands in the genre when it comes to guitar, they're innovative and different, especially in the vocals.
