Not everyone is a tier1 operator doing clandestine missions in the dead of night in a city I can’t pronounce. Some people just sleep with a rifle by the bed side. So for me, this is good enough lol

Olight has the best torture test vids....other manufacturers not at all. Workshop addict is one, he does the most brutal test of a seeker 2 pro including Ford Raptor crunch on gravel drive and light still turned on.

Great review as always my friend, i have found through trial and error that lights sporting the xpl-hi emitter do well for this purpose whether its shotgun or rifle, i utilize built c8's with the xpl-hi emitters 20mm mountain mosfet driver will project a hotspot out to 250 yards thats still "spotty" enough to see through optics,wide enough for shotgun applications i utilize the quick on toggle clamp so light can be switched from one weapon to the next and the builds are under 35 bux so i can light 4 separate weapons complete for the cost of 1 of these olight dealys plus quick detach and move to others, if you require a pressure switch can be had for less than 10 bux, you were looking all rambo sporting your AR didnt think you had it in you Badger. first i have heard of xhp35.2 which is usually a 12v emitter which requires a boost driver to step up 4v to 12v, the xpl-hi will run on 3-6v making it the obvious choice for a single battery application requires a "spotty" beam ie gun applications...keep up the great work

after research i was correct xhp35.2 is a 12v emitter the xpl-hi is a 3v emitter difference being a driver has to "step up" voltage from 3.8 to 12v which equals heat and waste of battery life the xpl-hi much more well adapted to weapons service in fact a 4 degree angle beam and "The XLamp® XP-L High-Intensity LED is the first of Cree's new class of High-Intensity LEDs optimized to deliver maximum candela through secondary optics. Does the pressure switch allow you to select high/low (by deep/light pressing)? I saw the sROD-7 switch with two buttons, but that one doesnt say it's compatible with odin on the website.

Just bought one for a build for someone else, light works with back switch, but won't do squat with pressure switch whatsoever, prob just going to return it, should work out of the box,tried everything on it, no go

Can anyone explain to me why so many people trash Olight? They all reference reliability. I have never had an issue. I have not read of any issues. Maybe I'm not looking enough. The lumens you get for the $$ I think makes them a great value.

The main reason I've heard/read is because they're made in China. Also the way they promote themselves and constantly having all these flash sales a year. That's when I've bought mine. They really are a great value. I have the odin and the mini and haven't had an issue with them so far

Their early models (as in 10 years ago) had bad tail switches. I have well over a dozen Olights and none of the models from about 8 years and newer have ever given me problems. Never had to change out a rechargeable battery either. None of us are fighting the taliban with these lights, for home defense, EDC and even SHTF things like a riot, these lights will do just fine

@@UkrainianBazooka LMAO compared to flashlights off wish, sure..theyre good flashlights to have in a drawer or car, but they need to stay out of the tactical light arena unless theyre willing to do a whole redesign..my odin mount broke by just unscrewing and the scout mount connected to my odin mini broke also..

fyi streamlight is also, people usually go to those once they discover how shitty olights are as a wml. if you want american youre gonna have to go with surefire, modlite, cloud defensive..i have two reigns..theyre all pricey but the rein has the best value and tied with performance with modlite if not edging it out..
