Olight S2R II release! New machining and pocket clip!!??

The retention on the new clip on my s1r 2 is super light. it easily falls out or slips from my pocket when I sit down. I almost lost it the other day when i didn't notice it fell out of my pocket and rolled wedged in my vehicle tire. It was actually a miracle I found it

Emmanuel Mata I’ve got the same problem with my s1r 2. I took the body off, and then bent the clip inward to give it a little more tension. I’m still not as happy with it as I was the s1r, BUT it’s better now. Also, I have trouble easily clipping it in my pocket compared to the s1r. If this light could have the old clip I’d be happier.

yea I've had all the baton series from the very first one to this latest one and I have never that that issue. Thats too bad because I kinda liked the new design in a way but yea, retention is sucks.I feel it's just a matter of time before I loose it.

Yep. I got this one today. Really like the build quality on this. Very nice!! I have the S1R2 as well. It's my normal EDC torch. So pocketable.

You know what would be awesome? If you had developed a simple Olight app that shows the specs and user manuals for every Olight ever made, right at your fingertips. It would be extremely useful to help master all the settings for various lights, without having to go online to the Olight webpage and searching through that.

will the reversible olight clips ever be revisited ? they are not designed for sturdy pocket carrying . i keep dropping mine over and over . love the lights and the original clips . reversible clips need the notch at least on one side

This is why I came here. I lost the black clip and have picked the blue one up off the ground numerous times. It looks like they used the same clip design as the S1R but with the S2R's larger diameter the clip does not engage as much of the diameter on the side opposite the double clip. I have and S1R and I have had no problems whatsoever with the clip. I carry both of them in the same manner(front left pocket, light inside the pocket.

This light looks like a real winner. For me the extreme cool white/purple tint on an EDC light is a no go. I am far from a high CRI tint snob, but to gain less than 200 lumens in that cool of a tint doesn't feel like the right trade off in an EDC light.

It would be nice to be able to reverse the pocket clip . As it is , the magnet does just what a magnet does ---- it grabs anything steel in Your pocket ( keys key rings knives etc)

Interested by the s2r II vs the original s2r. It looks like a noticeably smaller beam spread on the new one? Maybe accounts for the brighter looking light on the new one? Or am I just seeing things?

Only gripe is the Olight button. Hard to locate at night. If I don't have the clip positioned right, I can't find it through touch. Drawback in my opinion.

Olight is way overpriced here in the EU. People are all buying Chinese brands for less than 21 euro. And those Asian leds work. Even olight 18650 battery cost a fortune here.

My olight baton died after a few months of very moderate usage and no shock . Unreliable shit. And i dont keep guarantees of not very expansive items. Well, i wont buy any olight product again.
