My daily EDC as a plumber is an Olight Arkfeld. It has had a rough year+ and done great. Picked up the zombie color Warrior mini during Halloween sale. Have several Olights on different weapons and never had an issue. Subbed and excited to see what a good flashlight is considering I’ve been more than happy with them as a brand.

Before Olight became number one, I lusted over some of their lights. Now they are a light I recommend to none enthusiasts. There are one or two of their products that are still on the wish list. Definitely not a fan of the Sft40 LED, for some reason it always has beam artifacts. The proprietary battery and the magnetic charger is not for me. Great review as always FE.

Sft 40 are actually preety nice in 5000 K. The magnetic charging from olight is pretty fast and really practical in use, especially for people who just need a flashlight. Proprietary battery's however are really annoying from enthusiasts and professionals perspective. They don't make any (apart from business and profit, of course) sense. I'm not against protected cells, but there is no reason not to use standard batteries or at least make them compatible with the light.

The light will work just fine with any 18650 battery. You just can't use the magnetic charger, that is all.

Just bought one yesterday for 67, first olight I’ll have, think it’s worth it for the form and function falling in to my day to day necessities, just a great simple mid range flashlight

I used to be a HUGE Olight fan, going well into the Diamond lvls ... I do truly enjoy their UI, physical appearance, and charging system. Then they moved to PROPRIETARY batteries and I have lost all of my enthusiasm for them. They have also had several other issues from bad firm wear to questionable qc...many companies do from time to time though. I do like that they went back to FLAT tail caps, as they introduced 3 lug/nub tail caps that made it necessary to carefully place the light on a metal surface or they would fall off...poor design, FLAT is FAR superior. PROPRIETARY batteries are an absolute HARD pass for me in the end, so no more Olights that use them. Button magnets make the ones I do have, with their proprietary batteries, able to be charged in standard charging stations, so that was not too much of an issue for me.

Apart from their LED choices, Olight has some very nice lights and excellent drivers.

The messed up the tactical mode. On the previous models it was turbo/strobe instead of medium/strobe.

Yes, I miss momentary Turbo on tactical mode as well. Shame!

I had a very bad experience with this lamp and would advise against purchasing it. The sensor rarely works and dims even under the best conditions. The service couldn't find the problem and that's why I now have an expensive but useless lamp.

what do you mean the “sensor rarely works”? It’s only supposed to work if the light is switched on while in close proximity to a surface.
