This is the second one of these that I have ever seen with the wide front end,,, I traded my row crop 66 off , it runs perfect, all it needed was a drivers side main frame , the guy that I got the tractor fro has a grandson that was riding his dirt bike in the yard of grapes work owned yard and the grandson lost control of his dirt bike and wrecked into the side of the row crop 66 drivers side and with his head broke the main frame , the boy lived but he is in a wheel chair now , this happened way way back in time 20 years maybe, thanks for the vlog video thanks BigAl California praise Jesus Christ grace amen 🙏

Can’t get them to run much better than that. 👌

The old 66 sounds pretty dang good to me. I have rebuilt the carb on our 77 Row Crop and the tune was a true joy. Biggest issue on the 77 was wear on the throttle shaft. I'd call that a job well done, as seems to be the case on nearly all of your work! Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)

Shaft wear will really mess up the tuning.

Sometimes you can use the old double nut trick to pull studs but ya gotta love the old visegrip. I rebuilt an entire '69 Skidoo Olympic with a pair of those, an adjustable wrench and a standard screwdriver when I was 12 lol

That’s all you need.

The smaller carb and intake in a big bore kit might effect throttle response but essentially once the engine is up to speed the port velocity of the intake air goes up. Higher intake port speeds ends up with better swirl characteristics in the combustion chamber. Swirl makes power. That being said there are limits to where just velocity increase isn’t enough to give the engine as much air as it wants or needs.

Ethan, you can get a new replacement needle for that bent one from Mike's Carburetor Parts for your TSX 363. They stock it under P/N M1021 for $12.95.

If you don't have a stone big enough you can use a sheet of sand paper on your mill table. Just be careful and don't get any grit on the table. Little clean up with your shop vac and your done.

Have you tried using two nuts to remove/ install studs?

Never had it actually work without the nuts just slipping.

I never could stand any rain cap chatter. My grandad gave me the idea to shove some fishing weights into back side of cap and compress them with the bench vise. Let’s that cap float just a little bit better.

Is the motor on a 66 the same as a super 55? We had trouble with the governor more than carb on our two S 55 back in the day. It seemed to be a thrust bearing wear problem on our 55s the problem was solved by replacing the brass thrust bearing and drive gear in both of our 55s.
