that's my country boy singin' like I remember when I was his age..... Boomers from 1967....the energy and vitality of the early days before drugs...the young are back and raising us up. יוי

Thanks so much for sharing your gift of music with us. Every time I listen to your music it takes me back to when my dad and mom were still around. Pops was a coal miner and mom a home maker that we transplanted to the city when I was little. They didn’t fit in but we made it work! Thanks sir.

John Denver co-wrote and recorded this song and had never been to the State of WVa. Powerful still leaves me speechless.I think God was sending him visions while he was writing this song.

makes one wonder if he had been to virginia, considering thats what the song seems to be about

OK okay.. let me tell you the story...John Denver had never been to WV, but (I think) he lived in VA but could pick up a radio station that he listened to religiously.. so back then it would have DEFINITELY been old country, folk, and preachers... but he loved the way the people in the radio stations broadcasted about their beautiful state and he always wanted to visit... but he had a picture in his mind.. that's what he's referring to. ❤
